On June 27, 2025, Kentucky legalized the driving of UTVs on many rural roads throughout the state. Since that date, there have been 7 recorded deaths as a result of UTV vs car crashes. I have no idea why anyone thought this was a good idea.

Edit for context. The deaths were folks in the UTV, not the cars. I figured people would understand that to be the case, but maybe not.

found out today that I'm gon be the trustee of the cemetery where my grandparents (and the oldest cemetery in town, graves in the 1840s) are buried....it's complicated...started out as part of a defunct HOA in a residential neighborhood created by the court (again, in town)...only one easement through a dude's driveway and I dun been down the road with that pr!ck years ago....court named a 3-person board in about 2000, and all three are now deceased....spent what seems like hunnerts of hours there with dad over the years with concrete bags leveling tombstones...because of his health, dad really let it go the past few years (no choice)...dey's nobody left to give a chit...the last time I was down there, in the spring, the Boy Scouts were still mowin it, which is what dad had set up...they count the hours for their service badges....don't know what i'm gon do, but I'll figger it out

A friend of mine bought a property adjacent to an old graveyard. It was neglected and seemingly abandoned. He tired of doing basic groundskeeping and petitioned his town to declare it an official city cemetery. It took a couple of years, but he surrendered a wee portion of his property for access, and it was done. His petition included identifying some of the interred as having a former notoriety entwined with the town’s history.
