When you set up your rape van down by the river, you stay away from our teardrop trailer! We just want to chillax while we’re still alive, and possibly sip something that needs sipping!

And since we live in Asheville, we are required to drive Subies and listen to bluegrass, so that was a little cut from Balsam Range right down the road in Canton ( home of the paper mill that poisoned the French Broad River.

How did you know there was a rape van. I know your joking I am just going to live down by a river.

The people responsible for moving the antibiotics and vaccine manufacturing operations to a communist Chinese country should all be tried for treason and hung when found guilty.
Yep. They sold out their fellow Americans for a nice jump in their investments. All in the name of “stimulating business and the economy.”

At what point in business school were they taught that making your entire supply chain coming from one supplier in one country was a good idea? Even if said country is your bestest friend ever, that is insane to not have some redundancy in your supply chain.

And we vote for these people, OF BOTH PARTIES, who made this happen.

This did NOT result because of some mystical power of government regulations. This happened because our elected representatives of both houses, ELECTED BY US, voted for NAFTA and other fun agreements, and also allowed a ton of private agreements to move American jobs - which pay us, and the income from which spreads through our communities, benefiting all of us, but only if WE earn it - to other countries, with lower wages, all in the name of “making things more profitable for American business.“ Sure, enriching the tiny percentage of those running things, while reducing income and business for everyday Main Street businesses and the ordinary Janes and Joes trying to make a living.

Neither party gives a rat’s patootie about you and me. They are lining their pockets and setting up their post-government-“service” lives for lucrative speaking engagements and corporate positions.

It was Dwight David Eisenhower, a former 5-star general and Republican president, who warned us about the “military-industrial complex”.

I thought we didn't do politics in the zone. In fact, I got lambasted for that the other day. You are blaming Washington AND the private comanies that make the drugs. Sounds like you want a fantasy land. A company is in business to make money, period. You tax and regulate them enough, they leave. We prolly should debate this in the PF.

Probably so.

I do see a lot of posts indicating (to me) an unjustified faith in the powers-that-be, and they’re still up.

I don’t see any evidence that the way that we’re doing things now is working very well, and it’s shocking to me that so few people see that and react to that.

But to each his own. Have a good night!

Y'all recall the oft-repeated advice that average citizens have two weeks worth of groceries and sundries on hand... Well, apparently, some folks thought, two weeks?! Better make it two months!
