It's a time tested remedy.

Ya know, I wish I would had wrote down all those old country remedies and sayings etc from my granny and put it all in a book and sell it at cracker barrel or something lol. I'm affraid all that old stuff will be lost forever because my generation and younger have become slaves to technology and other modern crap.

What does a random thoughts thread entail? Besides random thoughts? I am a "noob" as was pointed out. Is this like "Cheers"? Is Woody or Coach the bartender?

Naw, somebody has it covered. FD and I talked about it one night. Started in 1966 as a magazine. People went into rural areas, mostly Appalachia, to get with the elders and write down their history. The things they did, their parents did, their great grandparents did, etc. In the different series, they tell how things used to be done. Hog killing and dressing, log cabin building, how to build fiddles, home remedies, plants for seasonings and medicines, etc. It's all in there. The old ways and their history will always be in there to read about and be re-told. For those who care enough to do it. The info will always be there for those who care to access and read it. It'll be there Grizz for some generation that's interested in it. :good!:

Damn... is that worth me trying?

Srs question

If your chest is congested, the alcohol will free it up so you can get it up and out of there. People have been doing it for hundreds of years. If you feel like crap from the cold, flu, whatever, the alcohol eases the suffering somewhat. My FIL used to grab a fifth of Jack whenever he got the flu. He would say that it won't cure it but by the time he got to the bottom of the bottle he wouldn't give a damn about it anymore.
