Behr
What have you tried with the fleas?

Long story short....

I didn't notice he had them until Thursday. I called my vet and he said he couldn't see him until Tuesday (Today). He told me to spray a mixture of lemon juice, salt and Hydrogen Peroxide on him to ease the agitation. Didn't help. Sunday it got so bad (him scratching) I "bing'ed" how to get rid of fleas. In the end, Dawn dish liquid has been a "God Save" for the dog and borax seems to be taking care of the house.

Also...if you have a room with a lot of fleas you can plug in a night light in a receptacle and place water with dawn in under the light. Fleas are supposedly attracted to the light.

I think the house is under control, but I have 5 bowls of Dawn and water under nightlights as we speak (type). Thanks for the info though! Where were you Friday? :)

I was on my "date" with MOMD!!! Hehe

Also your boy might have a flea allergy if his scratching gets extreme. My puppy has this allergy and continues to scratch and chew weeks after the fleas are gone!

I don't know if he is allergic or not...yet. But it's a sad situation. I feel bad for your pup. It got so bad Sunday night with Behr, he was scratching and biting and worse of all...whining. It was like a dagger in my heart.:cray:

Have you tried that stuff you put on his neck or given him a flea bath?

Been there done that. I give Rascal a benadryl before bed when he gets really bad. Also oatmeal puppy shampoo soothes their itchy skin! Cool water too! Stupid fleas!!!

If it gets too bad you might consider giving him a flea dip. I think you can buy flea shampoo and dip at pet supply places.

My last dog got fleas once, it was awful. We took him to the vet and they gave him that stuff to put on his neck. Worked like a charm.

Flea dips are a pain in the bootay. Especially for a dog Behrs size. If you have to resort to that its better to have it done at a place like petsmart...a good flea killing shampoo should do the trick.

I've tried evrything to get me/him through tomorrow. I had an appointment for a "dip" today, but they had to cancel. He'll be there in the morning at 7:00am.

Thanks for the advice and concern. :hi:

Still the nastiest little bastages I've ever encountered!!!

I hate to hear about a pup in pain!

Fleas are just awful I dread them every spring! They haven't been too bad for us this year thanks to our super cold winter!
