I'm wide awake.
C-dub, I would like to offer one small piece of advice for you to do with what you will. Like you at your age, I always wanted to learn to play the guitar but kept putting it off for one reason or another. My wife got tired of hearing me say that, so this past Christmas she bought me an Ibanez acoustic guitar. I am 48 years old now and regret all those lost years of enjoyment I could have had playing the guitar. I taught myself with the help of a CD called Guitar Media Basics. I now, in just 6 months can play and sing 15 to 20 songs from memory. I practice about an hour every evening and look forward to it all day. So I say to you, don't wait 30 years to do something you will love the rest of your life! FWIW, VIF.:good!:

Good advice IMO.

Absolutely. We gotta get CWilly into playing. Ibanez was the brand I was thinking about that he could get started with for $200 or maybe less. I've had about 4 different guitars by Ibanez. Probably one of the best bangs for the buck in guitars.

Mine is a beautiful royal blue with mother of pearl inlay around the sound hole. I freaking cried when RV brought it out and gave it to me.:cray:

Can't blame ya. A nice guitar is a thing of beauty. Electric or acoustic?

I would have never spent the money on myself. The fact that she did so much research and spoke to our musician friends, she qot the perfect quitar. I will never part with it or her.:cray:

Did I just catch you, or is that some sort of musician slang?

Seriously though, whenever we see a guitar for sale in a pawn shop or yard sale we call it a quitar. I know, it's not that funny.
