Bradford pears are notorious for splitting. I have three in my back yard and they haven't split yet and they are about 25 feet tall. Maybe I will get a royal empress weed tree when they split. The site I googled said they were hardwood but some are invasive, whatever that means. Hell, I had a weeping willow in my front yard I loved but it got blown down in a big windstorm. Maybe I'll get a giant weed for my front yard.
