Get out o here. I had one. No shag on the dash or anything. 1960 VW Van. That was before they put a blower motor on the heater and that thing was cold in the winter. Years ago, a buddy of mine bought a 1975 Corvette convertible and, I swear, it had shag carpet in it.

I had a Ford Aerostar that I drove for over 260,000 miles and replaced the transmission once. I'm currently driving a Ford E150 cargo van for work that has over 240,000 miles on it and rebuilt the transmission twice. I had a Dodge cargo van once that I replaced the engine and transmission before 100,000 miles.

I've been lucky or fortunate with every car I've owned except the first one. All the rest have been virtually trouble free.
