Now, you know for sure that you and the family need to include Utah in your cross country trip. And, that's just what's up here. Lots of stuff down south of Salt Lake City. About a 100 miles or so south of SLC it starts to take on a Monument Valley sort of look. From North to South, about every kind of critter you'd want to see except shark. Antelope Island, about 10-12 miles away is the biggest nesting area anywhere for eagles during their migration.

Strange. I figured antelope island would be swarming with antelopes. But nope...eagles. Go figure!

Wonder what's on Seal Island? Probably kangaroos.

Yes, I am. For anyone who like the outdoors, it's about perfect. Also, more freakin' golf courses than you can get to. Normally low humidity. Hot and dry from June until September. Because of the altitudes, they were still skiing in Park City the first week of June.

That's so cool....I hiked in 3 feet of snow in june on the tetons. Was in shorts and a tshirt. Good times....

You're more likely to see bison than anything. Herd is about 600-800, I think. I've only see a dozen or so prong horn antelope. Big horn sheep, mule deer, probably 100 different species of birds. When the eagles are there, they absolutely fill up the trees.

That sounds amazing. I am sure I'd be in heaven.

You'll have to bring your own shark. Unless dinosaurs will make up for them. They find bones everywhere out here.

You're kidding? Haha I'm coming to live with you! Paleontology is so cool!!!

P.s. Do you have a pool? What size so I know what kind of shark to bring?

This is in American Fork Canyon. Those peaks run up to about 11,500 I think. In the se corner of SLC.

I wasn't implying that..;) maybe a ride, but you have to ride in the trunk. No questions asked....

Hm...can I have a water bottle and nutrigrain bars in said trunk? Also a peephole would be preferable!
