Not exactly....that would be ideal. They typically just scream and become all paranoid. Its more annoying than anything. But I know you're not like that :)

No I would probably go "Ooh! Where? What kind?" And depending on the species either swim to shore or go under to see it....that last part makes me sound like an insane person. Geeze.

Not at all....I've been in the water with certain sharks before. I would say you are knowledgeable of the monsters of the sea and quite possible fearless.....or maybe I'm wrong and you are insane ;)

A little bit of both insanity and pure fascination. I also want to go out west to see Grizzlies. I have a weird fascination with predators...not the human kind. That came out weird.

Which part? I love hiking on the NC side...big creek is my absolute favorite.

Usually stick to Cades Cove area and Elkmont. I know the area "pretty well" (as if you could ever know it pretty well). Haven't done much in NC... I want to do the AT at some point.

Sly, Chatt has some great hikes but there's no comparison to the Smokies!! :)

It might have only come out weird in your mind...I had to pull off the road in wyoming because a grizzly had stopped traffic. They ended up relocating it away from the highway....that was a big animal. Grizzlys and moose are pretty insane in the wild. Ill admit I was scared when I came within feet of a male moose.

I figured Chatt would have some good ones. Obviously, Smokies do. Out here, you can start hiking just about anywhere within 3 or 4 miles going east.

That's cool...if I'm not hiking leconte then ill hit up cosby and big creek. Not as crowded as the trails entering the park at gatlinburg. Plus the camping is great there....

I must tell you I am quite jealous of your experience. I would have been so excited to see a grizz!! I get so happy whenever I see a black bear I just want to sit (from a safe distance) and watch it
/take pics for forever!

I would have been scared of a moose too...those things are crazy aggressive and big!

We had a moma moose and baby come through our campsite in the Tetons. I kept my distance because that's a lot of meat on the hoof. Bison are usually calm but they can get startled and go from 0-35 mph in a heartbeat. I haven't come across any grizzlies yet and really don't want to.

Most of Chatts are historic trails. I.e. Civil War related. Get up toward cleveland and you've got some more scenic stuff around ocoee. I really envy how you've got all that at your fingertips.
