He will. That how he plays. Always has. With the new rules he will have to make adjustments. It won't happen overnight
In the op in this thread I thought it was very much a change in tune for him to say McGee was ahead of all those other guys .
I think bottom line you expect kids (these are 18, 19, 20 year olds of course in some cases) to make silly mistakes. Maybe silly is a better word than dumb. But I don't think anyone is insulting Jabari or any player when we talk about their mistakes. I don't feel bad saying Jabari makes dumb fouls because it comes with the territory of being young and the type of player Jabari is anyway.
I know you probably love him to death Jabby and Auntie, but don't take the criticism to heart. We were eager to see him back and it might take a little longer to see him develop than some though. But he seems to be a hard worker and that will go a long way.
Sorry AD but saying someone makes a dumb mistake isn't calling them dumb.
You're right and what I should have said is that he hasn't used such negative terms to describe others shortcomings. But I'm done with this now. I don't want to tie up the thread with it. I'm ready for tomorrow and looking ahead for improvement From all of our guys. Go Vols!
Let him get his 5 fouls in by playing balls to the wall. That's what garbage guys do. We need that rodman type guy
Speaking of rodman why can't moore be that kind of guy in pro ball?
How tall was rodman?
I would agree with this if we had a more complete roster, but we don't. So, we need him to not foul as much and be on the floor more. If that causes him to be a little less aggressive, I'll take that over him getting quick fouls and not even seeing the floor. I will say that I would rather a player be aggressive than not.
Kenny Hall used to frustrate the hell out of me. He had the motor of a snail and it took a lot to wake him up. When he wanted to play, UT usually won or was right in it to win. The sad part was that he just wasn't that aggressive most of the time.

I know BTO has purposely posted things here to get to you guys before. Honestly this discussion tonight wasn't that way. In fact he was being very complementary on things at times tonight. He even said he thought 25min was the amount of time McGee should play.
This might be the only time it happens but I am defending BTO this time
Typing in all CAPS and lowercase at the same time stresses me outFirst and farmost, I AGREED WITH BTO FROM THE BEGINNING! I JUST DIDN'T AGREE ON THE WORD "DUMB!" HOWEVER, I EXPRESSED THAT AND MOVED ON! BTO WILL BE BTO! I HAVE NO ISSUE WITH THE FACT THAT JABARI NEEDS TO CONTROL THE FOULING...ON ANOTHER POST, I REFERRED TO HIM AS THE "FOUL KING!"
SECONDLY, AS YOU CAN SEE IN ALOT OF MY POSTS, I TRY NOT TO MAKE IT ALL ABOUT JABARI! I PLEAD FOR VN TO CUT THESE MEN SOME SLACK AND STOP BASHING THEM FOR EVERY LITTLE MISTAKE...I DON'T PLEAD FOR YOU ALL TO CUT JUST JABARI SOME SLACK!
BTW...SORRY FOR THE CAPS! I DARE Not to retype this! Lol!
The constructive criticsism that you all give on here for Jabari, believe me, WE DRILL HIM EVEN WORSE.So, what you guys are saying is nothing he hasn't heard from his own family! In our family, we don't use those type adjectives because they seem to be a bit harsher...
Thirdly (lol), I'm not AD! I HAVE NO TIME TO WASTE ON FUSSING ABOUT HIS VERBAGE...I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD MENTION IT FRIENDLY AND KEEP IT MOVING! I DON'T GO BACK AND FORTH AND I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE THIS A "WHOSE BALLS ARE THE BIGGEST" MATCH! LMAO...
I'M ONLY ON VN, to laugh at the negitive vols fans, to input (rarely), defend (as needed), to learn more about the game, to read the pros and cons about JB and last but not least, to write..."I TOLD YOU SO!" TO THE PPL WHO WOULDN'T GIVE JB THE CREDIT DURING THE SUMMER ...YOU KNOW THOSE WHO SAID HE WASN'T GONNA PLAY MUCH, PUT HIM AS THE 3RD POST PLAYER OFF THE BENCH, PLAYING LESS THAN 10 MINS..ETC....
ONE LOVE VOLNATION! I COME IN PEACE! #GBO
Oh...and thanks for the love LC!

Per utsports release, despite having an average roster height of 6'4" Tennessee leads the SEC and ranks 20th nationally in rebounds per game.
That's impressive. I can see it more on offense cause of the number of quick shots. But doing okay on the defensive end so far too. That's what's been so strange about the getting beat down the court on defense from time to time, our team effort on the boards has been great.
Barnes made a comment about his irritation with celebrations, guess some guys may be admiring their shot or pass and not getting back down court.
Meh at least its easily correctable with better focus and effort.
You know, before he came here I thought Barnes was pretty vanilla and full of coach speak during interviews. But what little I've heard since he's been here he's not afraid to speak his mind. Or even challenge his players thru the media.
