I fixed a lot of things with my swing today, sly. Narrowing my stance really helped.

Cool story time. We walked out to the chipping green. It was about thirty yards from the box. There were three of us with sand wedges. We wanted to see who could get it closest to the far right flag. I went last and hit the flag in the air!!! It broke it in half, haha.

My drives gained distance and were consistently straighter. Still really struggling with my big irons.

Having more fun now, huh? Practice swinging and hitting your wedge, then 9, then 8, then 7. Use the same swing and you should then be OK with the 6 and/or 5. PS=You don't need a 2-3 or 4. 5I might be your biggest challenge right now.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. My best friend is a pretty good golfer. His 3 irons go quite a bit further than my drives, which is embarrassing.

If he's good, I'd guess he's hitting the 3I between 180-200+. If you're hitting a 200 drive or close, be happy. Especially if it's fairly straight. Again, I wouldn't even pick up a 3, 4 or maybe even a 5 at this stage. The friend I golf with has a great drive and we're fairly even with our irons. Last week, he was 210 yards from the green. Hit a 5 iron and caught it perfectly. The ball came up about 10 yards short of the green. That shot was unusually long for either of us.

I'm going to keep practicing regularly. If I can tackle this I will be pretty proud of myself. After this, I'm focusing on the guitar and piano.

God for you. Don't get discouraged. We all make good shots and bad shots. Be sure to learn golf etiquette. Your buddy is probably teaching you that.
