you're usually a happy drunk

I am, really. I'm sardonic when I'm not drinking and hear nonsense. I get drunk and sing outlaw tunes with the bagpipes!

This makes me proud, just the work that Scots do for America and the UK. At the Ypres Monument there's 109 Malcolm's on it, whos remains were never recovered. That's bad ass, so are bagpipes lol

Got a book this weekend, Sly, "Empire of the Summer Moon, Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanche Nation"

After I read it, I'll gladly have the Pony Express drop it off at your door, what good are books on the shelf.

I appreciate the offer JT, but my eyes won't let me read printed pages for more than a few minutes at a time. Got the Kindle to help with that. Let me know what you think of it after you read it. If worth it, I'll download to Kindle. I checked Amazon and it has a butt load of good reviews.

Captain Myles Keogh had quite the career from beginning to end. Traveled many miles from where he started to where he met his end.

The "Last Stand" was by Keogh and his company, the Sioux stripped him, but didn't mutilate him, and left his papal medal on his neck, as an acknowledgement of the gallantry he showed facing insurmountable odds.

You can't dislike a guy like that.

JT won't like my Gibson reference. '67 was brutal for Sox fans. In terms of most hated by Sox fans, Gibson is right behind Buckner and Dent.

He was better than us. I can't hate Buckner, never could, never did. I'm of the opinion that ESPN made more Buckner hate in the late 90's than ever existed.

That said, I cried when he came home a few years ago. Not super fan cried, but really had water works.

Yeah. I remember reading that from some corner of my mind. The ones they respected, they showed it. The ones they didn't, well, they showed that, too.

That was a great moment. Growing up a Celtics fan, I've always been a closet Red Sox fan.

You should read some about Mitch Boyuer and Lonesome Charley Reynolds. Theres no biography, I'm sure, but they were both "High Plains Drifters". In my romantic heart of hearts, I think both stayed and fought (died) because they had indirectly brought about the death of the plains indian.

Just my mind wandering.

I'm a Celtic fan too, well, was. Haven't really cared for NBA since Reggie Lewis died. I saw Boston vs Detroit and LA, the NBA will never match that again.

I'm only 4 years older than you so our frame of reference is similar. Reggie was a big loss for me, as well. '84-'90 was the pinnacle of the NBA.

The highlight of my sports life was being 13 in 1989, standing in the tunnel of The Garden and high-fiving Bird, McHale and Chief as they ran out on the court.
