Lost in all of this...Gonzo is going to a lot of Giants games. Gonzo is a closet Giants fan.

I was in Cincy in '09 and wanted to go out downtown, as it looked like it had potential. Was told that nobody went downtown because of the race riots of '01.

My only experience there was seeing the Cards at GAB. I loved the ballpark. The chili was good but way over-hyped. I've never even stopped to get food or gas in the city.

What kinda weirdness have you run across?

some guys came down here to work and their interactions with outgoing southern people were just odd. Almost too serious for their own good, and a good way to put off potential clients quickly.
Then I go up there, in '09, and as where I can go to enjoy a good atmosphere, and they take me to a damn daiquiri bar with palm trees. And they get buzzed and their stories are freaking horrible. I kept asking if I was on candid camera and they never knew wtf I was talking about. Those bars in Tn had a quick popular run @ 1994ish.

Cincy people, and Ohio in general, are a rare breed. Sparty's description is spot on. So serious and condescending they are almost sickening.

Sounds like you just ran across a bunch of Cincy osteo-tards. Let's not damn an entire city over that. Although, you're right about beach-themed bars.

Gonzo if you're staying the night up there I always stay at hotels near the airport. Cheaper rates and they are very clean. About a 10 to 15 minute drive to the ballpark and downtown. There is a parking garage right near the stadium I usually park in. And go to Findlay market if you get the chance.
