Quinten Dormady is transferring

Wasn't it only about 1.5-2 years ago that we had Dormady on deck, JG signed, the #1 QB committed, and the #1 2019 QB a lifelong Vol with a lean to us? Maybe my old mind is playing games. But boy how things change fast.

Neither is JG doesn't have that IT quality gets sacked for losses that are basically like turnovers puts a bad O in down and distance and 3 and out machine kills D endurance. 6 & 6 at best.
Pray for a GRAD TRANSFER.

How is he not a P5 qb?

As a freshman he completed over 65% of his passes for 7.86 ypa vs the SEC. Those are great numbers.

So how is he not when he has already done it against SEC teams?

JG is actually faster than Dobbs running in a straight line. He’s very fast. He’s not anywhere near as quick or shifty as Dobbs. He’s mobile like Tee more than like Dobbs, which I’m not complaining about.

I’m one of the biggest JG defenders on here, and I agree that he’s nowhere near as elusive and shifty as Dobbs was, that’s beyond self-evident.

But nothing I saw last year leads me to believe that he’s faster in any way, straight line or otherwise, than Joshua Dobbs. Just don’t see it. And no supposed listed 40 time is gonna change that opinion.

I think JG only needs legit D1 college coaching by an actual proven QB coach to be a good, if not very good SEC QB, despite all the mud slinging and premature evaluations on VN that he just sucks and needs to be beaten out by a virtual walkon qb who completed 41% of his passes for 3 yards per attempt in limited time last season.

I really like the McBride kid and his attitude. Not saying he is the man, but I liked how he played the game.

By running the ball, or throwing more incompletions and interceptions than he did completions? I thought we were talking about the qb position not running back.

Now that he's parting ways with UT, I heard he's headed to Memphis.

A place like Memphis would be a great landing place for him. The issue with QD was not his arm strength but the speed of the game and how he reacted to it. The AAC is a good non-P5 conference where each game will not be near as fast as the SEC or other P5 conferences. The slower environment would be easier for him to thrive in.

The major thing that will hinder his success in anywhere he goes will be time in the system, the amount of coaching he will be able to receive and time to gel with his new teammates. I understand that in order to qualify as a grad transfer he had to finish out the spring semester here but that is really going to hurt him at his next stop. He may not have been able to participate due to his injury but being around spring practice would have been invaluable for him with only one year to play. Now the only real practices he's going to be able to go through is going to be fall camp which is going to be very tough for him to catch up especially being fresh off an injury.

I wish him nothing but the best but the cards are going to be heavily stacked against him anywhere he goes. He was below serviceable when he played here and all of the other factors I just don't see it possible that he could go to a P5 team and be successful. From here it would be non-P5 and if he wants guaranteed PT he needs to go FCS.

If he does, he’s one smart SOB. He’s an academic sophomore.

I wouldn’t let it worry you.

Who’s the “#1 2019 QB”? We have a whole year to flip him.

No ill will here. Good luck QD and you willl always be a VFL. You earned it with the beating you took with no offensive line.
This.. Young man took a beating every Saturday for UT, no sense in talking him down as if anyone on here can do any better.. Good luck QD

Throwing it out here that Bama's staff may have been a tad better than what Dormady and this program had to endure under Jones.

I expect he will go somewhere and do well much like Peterman and Ferguson.

No question QD got the short stick where coaching is concerned. Nothing we can do about that. Problem is he only has one more yr to get coached up, unlike Peterman and Fergie had when they left.

Best of luck QD...Wish it had worked out for you here...No matter who's jersey you put on next season You will always be a VFL in my eyes.

Unless he sits out a transfer year with his unused redshirt. Could use that to rehab his shoulder further, also.

Yeah jg did win us a bunch more games doing what he did too. I just liked how he looked and he was a true freshmen unlike jg who had a year in the program.

Because the qb is the only player responsible for the win loss record right? You keep doing this, you make an extremely uneducated guess and stick with it as if it were the gospel. You do realize things change right. In an earlier post you ranted about how jg is immature and pouting. Do you only jidge someone by the first meeting you have with them? Is there no evidence that will change your mind? You know what dont answer i know your response, " yeah well i have my opinion and you have yours". Just because you have an opinion that doesnt mean it is backed by any facts.

What about 42.5% for 3.8 ypa with a negative td/int ratio did you like?

Maybe a slot wr or db. Not a qb in this system.

Maybe if you’d just start droning it over and over...:boredom:

He pouted on sideline until he got his way. He held on to ball way too long on simple out routes. He does down like a sack of potatoes with seemingly no effort by the defense. He has zero toughness. If he is the man two things can happen. He surprises me and does something very few qbs can donand that’s pull a 180, which I’d be happy to be wrong. Option two, McBride starts for us.
speakering of Cutcliffe , what does the Duke situation look like for the next couple of years? He does pretty good with QBs. Sorry referenced the wrong post . Some one mentioned Ainge and Cut and somehow I ene=ded uo with the wrong quote,

Has anyone said when and how QD was hurt? Some have speculated he was hurt before the season and that accounted for his sketchy play and footwork. He definitely lacked the accuracy he showed in the Spring Game.

This whole thing has been a mess. Guess we'll never know what actually happened and why he has been so quiet and then just transfers.

Weird.

Did the right thing remaining quiet. This fanbase can’t handle statements. :)

I don’t believe so... he’s been down visiting Hurd at Baylor, so my guess is they’ll get him and he’ll land there with Hurd.

My less-than-serious comment was only to imply that he might just become the next Riley Ferguson.
