Quinten Dormady is transferring

I'll add one more thing. You obviously didn't see JG a few months back with that poor local kid who was getting bullied. He took time out of his Saturday, along with Swain to go spend time with him, take him to eat and go shop. Then went the next week to his school with a few others to visit him. Yea that's a horrific character trait and should be disliked by every fan and teammate. We damn sure don't need that nonsense out of our QB. That's even worse than pouting one time. We should petition to get those type of character traits out of Knoxville, there's no place here for that!😶😶

Great sports center story. But wth does it have to do with football? I’m not sure where your JG man crush comes from? He didn’t show us much promise last year. He looked like a deer in headlights every game. If the first read wasn’t there he took a sack. Not to mention the fact that he’s mis labeled as a dual threat. He looked about as fast as Peyton Manning. I’ll give you he’s young and the O-line was trash. I wouldn’t be so sure he has that QB position locked up. I have nothing against him. I hope for our sake one of those QB steps up and separates himself.

100% agree... cannot see JG getting it done.

JG never made any claims about anything. It is not his fault that others hyped him up to e expectations that he wasn't ready for. Then when he played he did not live up to those expectations
I. Personally, prefer the pocket passing Q B so,I was never excited about JG this season in the first place
New coaching staff and 1/2 a season of playing may help JG to improve a lot. Never count him out

To be fair... JG or any other QB just did not have the mentors or coaching to raise their game under the old staff. Might be a hidden gem in the mix.

What I mean by elite is I don’t agree that he has the talent to lead a P5 program. I guess he could, anyone could for that matter. Doesn’t mean they’d be successful. I’m just saying that he didn’t do anything while here to make me think he can go light it up at another program. Maybe it was just coaching, we shall see.

Look at guys like Peterman and Ferguson. Peterman didnt ever become elite, but he lead a Pitt team to a win against a Watson led Clemson. Ferguson has put up insane numbers. Its been so long since we have had good coaching, I think you underestimate just how important coaching really is.

Nothing I remotely said indicates a JG mancrush. That point was about dude questioning JG's toughness and character. My point was not to judge a kid off one pouting incident and compare his character to Hurd's. I can assure you he's way faster than Peyton but his strength has never been his running ability. Not all Dual Threat guys run like Dobb's and actually very few do. James Winston was labeled a DT but he rarely ran. Jarrett Stidham was labeled a DT and he isn't exactly swift on his feet either. I would bet he is the starting QB unless there's a grad transfer we don't know about coming in. Hell tell me what FR QB wouldn't have looked like a deer in headlights behind that Oline, no help from his run game and taking all the hits he did. I'm very intrigued by JT but there is no way he is ready to play this year, especially not arriving till summer. But his skill set and ceiling is off the charts. Our best hope is JG Progress's under this staff and offense.

This!! The list is endless..Look at the numbers Mayfield put up his first year at T.Tech then once he got to OU a light came on and he was a different player. Lock at Mizzou his FR year was really bad. Then Heupel is hired as OC and puts up crazy numbers and was a different QB. Throw in Crompton and Ainge here. Both of the QB's Brohm played this year after the first starter went down both became much better under him. Jason Driskel this year under Kiffin he made a big improvement in stats and wins.Brisset could barely get much PT at Florida, transfers to NC St and puts up great numbers and is an NFL Starter. It's never ending and it happens every year across college football. Exactly why I'm not judging play from JG or any other players under Butch who will be here this season.A coaching change can make a huge difference with QB's and tons of other players on the roster.

I don’t care anymore man. You aren’t changing my opinion. I’m entitled to how I feel. My first impression of him was he’s a pouter. I became a fan of anyone that is not jg. If you pout then you better produce. He didn’t. He didn’t come close to looking like an elite qb. But hey, this is America where we give second chances. So all he has to do is go out and produce and all is forgiven. Don’t care he does good off the field either. He’s supposed to do that. He supposed to take advantage of the position he is in. If he didn’t do good for others, I’d be upset over that.

While the previous staff didn't do QD any favors with their inept ability to coach qBs, QD simply isn't a power 5 QB. You either got it or you don't. Best of luck to him.

Neither is JG doesn't have that IT quality gets sacked for losses that are basically like turnovers puts a bad O in down and distance and 3 and out machine kills D endurance. 6 & 6 at best.
Pray for a GRAD TRANSFER.

Best of luck to QD. Hate to see him go. Guy has a lot of talent. Too bad our previous coaching staff didn’t know how to develop talent. As long as his shoulder heals properly, he do well wherever he goes.

I really like the McBride kid and his attitude. Not saying he is the man, but I liked how he played the game.

The fact that he announced his decision to transfer after meeting with Pruitt tells us all we need to know.

If he liked what he heard he wouldnt be leaving.

He was never gonna play here again.

Simple as this. He's probably not fully healed either which didn't help him.

JG is actually faster than Dobbs running in a straight line. He’s very fast. He’s not anywhere near as quick or shifty as Dobbs. He’s mobile like Tee more than like Dobbs, which I’m not complaining about.

Never saw it... JG looked slower than QD.

Guess he doesn’t think he can complete. Good luck

Maybe he thinks that he won't get a fair chance. Might think that if all things are equal, a new coach may choose the underclassman for long term results, rather than invest in a senior.
I may be way off the map, but that is a possibility.

Best of luck to Dormady and even though this looks like JG is the man I think the best guy will play next season and that could be someone else.

I don’t think he’s bad. He can definitely play somewhere. He just hasn’t shown me anything to think that he’s ready to lead an elite program as QB.

Nobody said he’s ready to QB Alabama’s, Clemson’s, Oklahoma’s or Georgia’s programs. The word elite was never brought up.

I was disputing the idea that QD isn’t talented enough to be a D1, P5 program quarterback, which is a ludicrous thought.

He has the tools to play for schools in the ACC, Big10, Big12, SEC and PAC12. It’s fine, and accurate, to say he didn’t play particularly well last year vs P5 opponents, although he played well enough vs both GaTech and Florida to win. But it’s just wrong to say he can’t play qb at a P5 level.....he’s already done it
