Question for pro Kiffin members

I guess a better choice of words would have been when he did it. I never said that Kiffin ran away and hid and I said that I didn't blame him for taking the job at SC, but the timing absolutely sucked for Tennessee.

I know SC had to move fast to replace Carroll after he left for the Seahawks, but if I remember correctly it was only two or three weeks before signing day and that left Hamilton a very short window in which to find another coach and try to save a recruiting class.

Hamilton didn’t have to find a coach, he had one. Kippy should have been named interim and the class would have been fine.

It's called character. But I wouldn't expect someone like Lane Kiffin to know anything about that.

Consider the flaw in your own character for saying that. Kiffin returned to Knoxville to personally speak to the players and the media, against advice. That is character. He was met by a riot. He took a job at USC, which had frankly stated he would do before the fact. Other coaches were turning down the job, because USC had been hammered by the ncaa, losing 15 scholarships a year for three years. Nobody wanted that job, but Kiffin stepped up and took it. People in Knoxville maligned and defamed him for years. What did Kiffin ever say in reply? He said he understood why they were upset and asked them to understand why he left. That is straight talk. Yes, he put on a silly show at times, but he also refused to corrupt our program by offering money for a quarterback who led Auburn to the national championship. If you have any character, then you are supposed to look at everything about the man, not just those things which enable you to denigrate him.

People seem to forget that he had Orgeron call certain recruits to come to USC. If I remember correctly, it was only a month till signing day. He screwed us royally. I don't even want him in the State of Tennessee.
