i watched every game. he was a 19/20 year old freshman with one career start (the bowl game vs iowa) and he threw for over 2,500 yards with 19 td's. that's more yards than Blake Shapen, LaNorris Sellers, Garret Nussmeier, John Mateer, Jackson Arnold, and DJ Lagway threw this season.Defense did both of those things. If you watched the games. Sampson and defense drug Nico along.
Those are bad comps there budi watched every game. he was a 19/20 year old freshman with one career start (the bowl game vs iowa) and he threw for over 2,500 yards with 19 td's. that's more yards than Blake Shapen, LaNorris Sellers, Garret Nussmeier, John Mateer, Jackson Arnold, and DJ Lagway threw this season.
lol! What a list! Super stars for sure loli watched every game. he was a 19/20 year old freshman with one career start (the bowl game vs iowa) and he threw for over 2,500 yards with 19 td's. that's more yards than Blake Shapen, LaNorris Sellers, Garret Nussmeier, John Mateer, Jackson Arnold, and DJ Lagway threw this season.
I mean I readily admit I have no clue what’s going on. But Heupel has earned my trust when it comes to QBs.Just because it's on their desk doesn't mean a thing; Right, @BigOrangeTrain ?
My mother gave me some advice that I still live by today. It's really simple and most of the people in here probably need to hear it:I'm not worried about GMac or Faizon being big enough. I'm worried if they're mentally capable of running the offense at a high level.
Completely agree! It’s obvious that seasoned qb’s are more successful (seems fairly self-evident, but Johnny Manziel changed that whole damn paradigm and no one has returned to reality it seems). And these transfer qb’s are bringing maturity, ability to process (game has finally slowed down), and battle-forged confidence with them. We find ourselves begging for scraps with what is left of these “seasoned” assets. Let us instead return to the days where a kid played when he was ready…like his Junior year…let GMac eat isht for a couple seasons but make sure the RB’s are monsters…Brandon develops…GMac hands the torch to Brandon in 2 seasons ready to ROCK…and we rinse and repeat without having to be second class portal citizens any longer. Idealistic I know, but I’d put GMac or Brandon up against whatever nonsense is left in the portal right now. Get the RB room right and get back to road graders up front and it kinda doesn’t matter who’s taking snaps (see Casey Claussen years).Screw it, we ain’t paying G-Mac and Faizon Brandon for nothing!
Heup can earn his damn pay and get one of these two ready to play!
I’m so over this portal BS, we have a 4-5* on the roster and a 5* coming in, why the hell are we so desperate to find a starter in the portal? If we need depth then bring in someone experienced at holding down the damn bench and let’s roll with what we’ve got.
To hell with Leavett, Pribula, Kiffin and whoever else doesn’t want to be a part of this program!
I don’t understand it?Completely agree! Portal is still open. Still time for new names to jump in. That's our only hope.Lots of folks saying “get a different QB from the portal” as if there is an unlimited supply. I just went down the Portal QB rankings on On3. Apart from Beau Pribula (and his 11/9 TD/INT ratio, the only QB’s with significant starting experience are Eget from SJSU, and Holstein from Pitt, and both of them got benched late in the year.
The cupboard is bare, all that’s left are freshmen and backups.
We gonna have to fatten GMac up!
I'd kill for Bailey.Darian Mensah - Duke JR
Devon Dampier - Utah SR
Alonza Barnett - JMU/UCF SR
Colton Joseph - ODU/Wisco JR
CJ Bailey - NCSt JR
Kevin Jennings - SMU SR
Avery Johnson - KSt SR
Anthony Collandrea-UNLV/Neb SR
Jaden Craig - Har/TCU SR
Amari Odom - Kenn/Syr JR
Noah Fifita - Arizona SR
Taron Dickens - WCU JR
Joe Fagnano - UConn SR
Owen McCown - UTSA SR
Eli Holstein - Pitt JR
If he's got that kind of attitude about NCAA violations, just tamper like heck and get your man into the portal and sign him.I don’t understand it?
If I’m Heupel, I’m pissed and a fire just got lit inside of me!
I’m gettin to work, doing whatever is necessary, to get one of our two QBs ready to take control of our offense next season.
If it’s practicing them before allowed or whatever.
No one else cares what the NCAA says or does, why should we?
