I say roll with what we have, surly if it gets to 3rd string there's a athlete on the roster than can throw. Kentucky 2012

Pretty sure he already announced he’s going back to Duke. Obviously that only means so much-as proven by the Demond Williams ****show-but feels like someone would’ve already gotten him if he wanted out.

Not too late for one to jump in protagonists and totally possible they’ve been talking to one.

Im not worried about it.

I have already said I want Dickens or Longstreet. If GMac is going to hit portal over competition than you don’t want guys like that. Longstreet should be lining up a visit if this staff has done any scouting of QBs beyond Leavitt, Sorsby, or Simpson.

there is some part of me (maybe the wishful thinking part) that wonders if there is a QB out there who tells himself "i'll take the money Tennessee is throwing around" and enters the portal at the last minute. maybe (hopefully) heupel knows something we don't know. actually, i have said this many times before, if i were a top notch QB who was thinking about transferring, i would wait until the last minute and see who got left at the alter and is ready to spend more than they originally were before i tipped my hat to potentially leaving. just like with ty simpson, if he wanted, he could pull out of the draft later this week and probably get more than what miami just offered. teams are going to be getting desperate in the coming days. and desperate people do stupid things

There are still some options in the portal:

-the ECU kid that beat Pitt in the bowl game entered the portal a few days ago.
-We can roll the dice with Malachi Nelson or Jaden Rashada. Two fall from grace stories, but still would be bodies for the depth chart with starting experience
-Davi Belfort from UCF - Notable teams from original offer list: TENNESSEE, Alabama, Va Tech (enrolled), Arkansas, Florida, FSU, UGA, Ga tech, Indiana, Michigan, Ole Miss, Miami, Penn State, Oregon, Texas A&M
-Husan Longstreet from USC - Notable teams from original offer list: Texas A&M, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, FSU, Michigan, Auburn, and Pitt.
-Luke Moga from Oregon - Notable teams from original offer list: Arizona State, Miami, Michigan State, NC State, Cuse, TCU, UVA

Longstreet would kill it in our offense. He is a great runner too. If it causes GMac to transfer then so be it.

We have to get better at identifying talent at QB. Milton was a miss. Nico a miss. Merk a miss. We do not know on Gmac but he can’t put on weight well to play… Hooker was Pruitt and Aguilar was last second trade and no real choice.

I will say Heupel got everything out of every QB with their talent level and put them in the best spots to succeed.

Going all in on Leavitt and waiting so long to be told no was poor planning and execution. The staff does not want to roll with Gmac and Faizon as the face of the program next year no matter what anyone tries to say. They are for 2027.

Milton won us a BSC bowl and Nico got us to the playoffs. I can't 100% classify them as misses.
