Y’all need to realize people are throwing out names and info to lead you away from what is really going on. They want to appear that they are not tampering but we are having strong talks to someone. I don’t care if they are saying we were turned down by a name or two. I guarantee they want that out there. Just sayin…

This is misleading as the teams with the best records typically are strategic with the portal and not doing wholesale roster turnover. Quit acting like the portal is answer to all your problems (besides QB 😅).

But isn't the implication of the TCU QB turning us down exactly that we reached out to him even though he is not in the portal, thereby tampering? So why would they want that out there?

Edited to say that I think those posts about the TCU QB are complete BS, but just trying to understand your point here.

I know it’s asking a lot of a kid to uproot from his team right after spring practice, as well as his support system, but man if I had the opportunity to make more money and join a playoff team in the SEC, AND play for Heup, I don’t think I would be able to sleep. Huge decision out there for somebody.

Look at it like this. I'm draft eligible but best case is a free agent deal. Maybe I make it or maybe I don't. My degree is a degree that a job will pay me $75K. I can stay in school and bring in $200K. I'm a really good college player but not quite as good enough for the pros. Think about the UFL. I'm not sure what thise guys make but I'd bet college football could pay more.

Yep, people keep acting like we are replacing elite quarterback play last year. Nico was incredibly average last year and we still made the playoffs. Hard to imagine we can’t replace his stats. I will be surprised if whoever starts doesn’t actually have better numbers. Doesn’t mean we make the playoffs as there are many more variables. We lost a lot of key pieces on both sides of the ball so who knows how it plays out.

Mind you, we are trying to defeat evil. (Bama, UGA, FL, LSU, UTex, UK, OK, etc. )

Whatever it takes for the benefit of the greater good.

I’m with you, but the NCAA definitely cares. I’m sure they’re keeping a close eye on UT, they want payback on Tennessee.
