We can yes, but a 1 year vet qb to give merk and gmac more time to develop would be preferable. Id also prefer to have a legit qb battle, not just hand the keys to a freshman or someone who steps on campus in the fall

Wrong. We don't need to bring in a veteran QB to be our starter that has zero knowledge of our offense or experience running an offense at our pace of play. Merklinger will start. He knows the offense. We need an experienced backup.

Yup but we’ve seen him flash and I think CJH could get the best outta him. Personally think his upside is a littler higher than than Illinois QB.
