It's easy not to throw interceptions and I have a high completion percentage when you're only throwing the ball three or four yards every time. Stats can be very misleading. I got sick and tired of 3rd and 8th and him making a 3-yard pass. I don't know if it was coaching or if it was him but it was very frustrating
This is such a dumb cop out. JG has as much responsibility for his taking sacks as the god awful OL. It’s a symbiotic relationship of ineptitude, and you people who continually dump it all over the OL are doing so out of ignorance or willful blindness.
I just do not understand the constant criticism of JG. His numbers last year were excellent considering the lack of protection he received while trying to learn a completely new offensive system. (Do you realize we started a tackle last year who only weighed 275 lbs? In the SEÇ?) Under all that pressure he only threw 3 ints. 3!!! That's amazing. Then bring in a 62% completion percentage with the lack of talent around him.
He took a beating and never quit, never complained about the lack of protection. Last year was nothing short of courageous. He took hits where I wasn't sure he was going to get up. You don't think his teammates notice that? Word I hear is that the OL loves the guy and, hopefully, with the influx of talent on the OL and another year in the system, he's going to get the chance to show what he can do.
I've seen bad QB play at Tennessee over the years and some great QB play, JG can be great, let's just see what he can this year and next.
Agreed. Although what I meant was those that think we are screwed if JG goes down. Maybe JT shocks the world. Maybe he doesn’t and BM does because let’s face it....as bad as we have been it’s still the best team BMs ever been on. A lot of people may learn that @LittleVol may have been right all along. Who knows? If their "support group" has improved to the above or avg. level, a backup QB will likely be enough to meet the realistic goals expected by most people.
I think most folks will tell you it was a lack of time to develop a 10-15 yard pass play. It's easy not to throw interceptions and I have a high completion percentage when you're only throwing the ball three or four yards every time. And right on time , here is the guy w the personal vendetta against JG. Takes any opportunity available to excoriate JG to no end. Did JG steal your GF kick your dog what? Never seen a “ fan “ take such a personal position against a player

Me too. At the end of the day, if he is successful, the team is likely successful.I agree with what you say. However a conscious effort to not make a mistake (turnover), may be part of the way he, the staff, game plan, have been preached. (trying to help a defense that has not needed to be "behind the 8 ball" for some time now. Hope this is changing now.
He's not too 3 in the SEC EAST alone.
Frohm
Bryant
Bentley
Franks are all better than him PLAYING QB.
In the West
Bama
Texas AM
Ole Miss also have better QBs
People keep mentioning he CAN make all the throws...but then just doesn't.
Playing QB is about having a feel for the game and adapting to all factors and producing anyway. He has no pocket awareness. Zero ability to make the defense pay for being over aggressive. Meaning: He can't recognize where they are coming from WHICH MEANS HIS O-LINEMEN AREN'T TOLD WHO TO BLOCK and therefore "whiff".
Not sure he can be great. (depends on your measuring stick) I do think he can be above average, which can be good enough, if all others a good at their jobs.
Me too. At the end of the day, if he is successful, the team is likely successful.
We have a whole group of posters who lie to fit this narrative they are pushing. Then you give them stats that prove them wrong. All of the sudden stats lie and they bring up the team's win loss record. We just need to face that a large number of posters are just trolling at this point. His average pass completion was 12.5 yards; roughly on par with Drew Lock, Jarrett Stidham, and Kyle Shurmur.
I get "sick and tired" of people making up phony stats because they are trying to justify their irrational dislike for JG. And then claiming "stats can be misleading." Yes, they can be very misleading when you make them up out of thin air.
If it does play out the way you think it will there will be a boat load of deserved apologies coming your way. I don’t agree or disagree with you btw. But I do respect your knowledge of the position despite the criticism you get.

100%. I don’t get it.It's almost like they want JG to fail just so they can be right, know what I mean?
So now JG is a bowler or tennis player or golfer? The only stats that I post is his win/ loss record.
Is that a lie too???
We're the Tennessee Vols, not the Tennessee Tuff Gauranatos. We should want better and be willing to accept it when it arrives. It has arrived.
Good ESPN read about JG this morning. What college football's craziest 2018 stats tell us about 2019
