QB Justin Worley commitment

Since you whiffed on the express language in the initial post, you are now going to read implications into it, in an apparent attempt to justify your whiff.

I stand by my earlier posts and this concludes this discussion.

My apologies for assuming you were smart enough to understand and comprehend.

our qb recruiting last year was dreadful. We lucked into bray.

We stole him from that mighty quarterback mecca of San Diego State I believe. wasn't any whinning about recruiting qb's that were only wanted by a lower tier mountain west school.

James Stone had a Tennessee State hat on his table on signing day.

I don't know if Dooley, Chaney, Thompson, Baggett, Smith, and Wilcox can spot talent or not. You seem to be convinced that they are masters at spotting undiscovered gems mainly because some of the players they have landed aren't that highly regarded.

You are correct, though. Saban signs 3*. Without checking the ratings, I'd bet Meyer and Tressel and Brown and Stoops, et al, have as well. You have to have those guys to fill out a roster and hope they develop in their upperclassman years into players that contribute. But you better believe they are hauling in elite level talent as well. That is why they are BCS bound every year.

I'm glad we signed Worley and hope he is one of those undiscovered gems, but I can't get overly excited about a 3* recruit, even if Notre Dame offered him, too. I also wouldn't erase the rest of my QB wish list if I were on the coaching staff just yet, either.

Aren't highly regarded? By who... some guy who didn't play football or by college coaches.

Last I checked, every recruit with the exception of Harris and Power have a pretty impressive offer sheet.

We are in very good shape with a lot of guys in this class and will have a top 10 class by signing day as well. When Smith, Posey, and Randolph are 4 stars come signing day then will people be pissing and moaning?

Bray came out of nowhere last year and I was very happy to have gotten him. He had an incredible performance at the Elite 11 Camp and had a stellar season as a senior. He has one of the most important attributes for a QB - ACCURACY. We did very well to get him and he upside, upside, upside.

Please take your troll ___ back to Berkely. We don't need any football wannabees around here. Whereas Tennessee is a tradionally relevant program currently rebuilding, Cal is, well, whatever Cal is. I just know it isn't relevant now nor has it been very relevant during my lifetime.

history and tradition are great things, but i wouldn't trade your next 4 years for my next 4 years as a fan for any amount of money. you think you are some sort of real fan because you follow a traditional power? if Tenn was Vanderbilt you'd probably currently be a alabama fan.

i very much doubt he had him over wittek or kesler

Kiffin offered him in September of last year and everyone was so excited about it then. I don't know how he stacks up but he is 6'5 and 205 with 90 TDs over the last two seasons. I don't think he sucks.

Everytime we get a new commit we don't need to start comparing and contrasting DD and LK's recruiting successes/failures etc. However, sadly, I am confident this will continue.

This is exactly how i feel. I see no reason to keep pointless comparisons between the two coaches going on. This is a great pick up. I can't even fathom why so many people continue to judge all of OUR Volunteer players and coaches, and just assume that they can't compete on the SEC level. If we win 6 or 8 games over the next two seasons, then i will start to moan and groan. But for now the negativity is unfair and undeserved. This is an exciting time for our team and fans, and some of you are being too pessimistic to notice.

Go Vols

I have an Astros hat on my desk. Doesn't mean I am pitching tonight.
My point was everyone can twist it to fit their need. If Dooley had just landed Bray that would be the "spin".

Get top O linemen and DTs...that's all I really care about for the recruiting class.

It's about closing ladies and gentlemen. How we finish in Feb is what counts. Recruiting is building up some steam right now
