No, what you should understand is that we have a proven OC that knows QB talent and am pretty sure knows how to evaluate it. Not only did this staff want Worley but so to did the last staff. You guys want to look at stars and complain about Randolph, Smith, and Posey... but all 3 of those will more than likely get their 4th star by signing day. Even Saban signs three stars my goodness look at some of the 2-3 stars on his Bama squads and LSU squads.
You can't tell me that Dooley, Chaney, Thompson, Baggett, Smith, and Wilcox cannot spot talent.
I don't know if Dooley, Chaney, Thompson, Baggett, Smith, and Wilcox can spot talent or not. You seem to be convinced that they are masters at spotting undiscovered gems mainly because some of the players they have landed aren't that highly regarded.
You are correct, though. Saban signs 3*. Without checking the ratings, I'd bet Meyer and Tressel and Brown and Stoops, et al, have as well. You have to have those guys to fill out a roster and hope they develop in their upperclassman years into players that contribute. But you better believe they are hauling in elite level talent as well. That is why they are BCS bound every year.
I'm glad we signed Worley and hope he is one of those undiscovered gems, but I can't get overly excited about a 3* recruit, even if Notre Dame offered him, too. I also wouldn't erase the rest of my QB wish list if I were on the coaching staff just yet, either.
