Thanks for all the info..........I heard Stephens was mobile? I guess not! I saw BJ play in high school and had alot of talent in the BEST division in TN football (D2 Class2)

Get the ball to Jones and Moore and things should be pretty darn good!

I'm guessing you played in D2 Class 2. If so what school?

Crompton all the way... his to lose. He's a leader, has the arm, has the experience advantage & has the attitude. I haven't seen or heard anything to make me believe otherwise.

DovaVol:

I went to a school that is now in D2 years ago! I did not play football....baseball and golf (in college).

D2 is the best football in the state. With the exeption of Alcoa/Maryville....different discussion.

BJ is talented and did very well in a very difficult Division.

Jones

Seriously

Lucas Taylor was a more prolific runner in HS. I don't know about either of their Passing stats (Or EB's, but I know EB would never be full time QB, but then again, neither will either of these 2...)

Lucas Taylor ran for 600+ yards and 6 TDs in a playoff game and lost 49-42.

I would be SO pissed off at my team if I was him.

Crompton. Please.

What's the good news about coleman?? not being a smart ass, just really haven't heard all this high praise that makes him ahead of crompton?

I'm not so high on Crompton. I think he looks for contact too often when he runs rather than looking for extra yards. If you are going to have a QB who is mobile, he had better have some WHEELS, and crompton isn't that fast, he's just pretty stout, but not stout like Tebow, so he can't exactly jackhammer defenses like a FB (he has failed when we tried...). I would love an accurate QB who can scramble and get out of the pocket to make plays (in the vein of Steve Young...obviously not as talented), but I don't think Crompton has the patience and accuracy to do that.

When I watch Crompton play, its almost like he just says "screw it" and chucks it down field. That worked pretty well when we had Meachem, but I don't know if he will be all that and a bag of chips (like most seem to think).

JMHO, but I'm not sold on Crompton.

If Crompton has time to settle in and improve his decision making a little I think he will do fine. He is certainly not affraid to throw deep and has probably developed some chemistry with some of the faster, younger WR's.

Crompton will get the job and do fine...he's the most mobile QB we got, even though he's not the next Mike Vick some of yall want...

i'll be fine with whichever one fulmer puts under center in the fall. but those of you that are thinking jones will be a full time qb are dreaming. he came here to play wideout.

I think ya gotta give Crompton the chance. The upside on Crompton is that he will put his head down and run through a brick wall for the team, and he's had a couple of years with Cut to work on the mental aspects, which apparently is why he couldn't beat out Ainge, a guy who throws while running backwards, and avoids contact if at all possible. I'm not knocking Ainge, infact there were time he amazed with his ability to throw the ball without stepping into the pass at all. Stephens did a decent job in the spring game if memory serves. The biggest question is which QB will pick up a new offense if it's required.

according to coach cut, coleman is the most advanced QB he has ever coached at this stage.

nice thought, but fulmer wouldn't know what to do with a mobile qb, especially if he doesn't hire a new OC and does the play-calling himself.
