This is where I'm at as well.. sure he's better right now but we aren't going to compete in big games with him at QB. Everyone knows that. We need to be working the other guys into games as frequently as we can or we aren't giving ourselves a chance.

Seems like Pruitt is ok with pushing pedal on 4th and 1, but he seems risk adverse when it comes to playing JG. JG is a perfect scapegoat. He can justify playing him due to shortened offseason. And so if we loss to A&M and Auburn, he can blame JG. While still allowing him to pad his record against Vandy Arky, etc, further cementing us as a middle of pack SEC team. Then he can sell the still unseen hope and promise of HB.

You accept them as fact because they fit a pre-held belief you have. They are really just stated opinions.

It's easy for us to believe that qb1 is the best option for us because of his experience advantage. It's also easy for us to believe that HB is not ready yet because of his experience disadvantage. Shrout & Maurer both played inconsistently last year. Flashes of brilliance, flashes of youth. so it's easy for us to believe that they're not ready to reach out and grab the job full time.

But it doesn't take much awareness to look at the situation and realize that every bit of that is manipulated. Qb1 is given every single possible advantage and as much time as possible to try to show any advantage at all. The other guys are not given a reasonable opportunity with actual experience to see what they can do in a game. No quarterback besides QB1 has been in a game in a situation where they were set up to succeed.

Frankly, if qb1 was that much better than all the others, there's no reason for the staff to go to such lengths to disguise who would be QB2.
