QB choice biggest mistake all season.

Are you being serious? You think JG is worse than Rick Clausen or Nick Stephens? Good Lord.

Yeah the overreactions on JG are out in full force tonight. I'm done going to bat for the guy, I think he's average at best, but he's absolutely not worse than Rick Clausen and he is ABSOLUTELY not worse than Justin Worley.

IMO being stubborn about keeping JG at the helm was the biggest mistake all season. I realize that it's easy to blame the QB but he's clearly not capable of generating sufficient offense for Tn to be competitive consistently. Allowing Chryst to get more reps and gel with this offense earlier in the season would I believe made the difference in a few games like South Carolina and possibly Vandy. JG got tons of grace from throwing up a few 50 50 balls successfully. The guy is really is not very dynamic and has NO RUNNING ABILITY. Itll be extremely discouraging to see him at the top of the depth chart next season. Thoughts on the chances are that Pruitt moves to start a freshman next seaon?
I honestly think Pruitt will tell JG to seek out transfer options.

I dont think either QB is elite. I truly believe all the hits JG has endured has taken a tole on him mentally and even when he does have time he seems panicked. The OL is really bad, guys. That hampers the whole offense significantly. The Trey Smith situation was the nail in the coffin. We are a lot better offensively with him.

Totally agree op. It was obvious to all the fans that jg wasn't good. His pocket presence is terrible. He never avoids pressure by stepping up into the pocket and never tucks the ball when he sees a bunch of green grass in front of him. If you don't have a qb you're not going to win much in this league. And Kryst sacrificed so much to come here for his final year. I just feel terrible for him that this coach was unwilling to give him a shot when it was obvious we weren't winning with jg

Absolutely won't happen. Shrout is a project that may or may not work out. MAYBE you can get Kelly Bryant here, but I doubt it. Even if JG isn't the starter, you have no clue what you have in anyone else, so you need him on the bench at the VERY least.

You guys are going to be distraught, though, because JG is your starter next year too.

Then get ready for another 5-7 year.

JG sets UT records for most attempts without an Int, and completion percentage and you want to bench him for 48.9% and 3/2 td/int ratio? So you dont like to put the best players on the field got it.

Some fans I swear man. What in the hell have you been watching? He set the record for one because a handful of terribly thrown passes were misplayed by defenders and secondly...he checks down everything. Ive never seen a TN qb take less chances with the ball. We never ever throw down the middle of the field. Every throw is right at or just beyond the line of scrimmage. Since your so into stastics look into how many yards pr pass completion jg averages. I guarantee it's one of the lowest in TN history.

It is AT LEAST DEBATEABLE!!! JG has not shown me anything. A lot of the balls JG completed vs Auburn were 50/50. He still throws a lot of passes behind the WRs, checks down all the time when not necessary, and stares down one receiver and doesn't go through progressions most of the time with this being his third year as a college QB. I am not one to blame the O performance on JG alone. But, I am tired of the OL and play calling being ALL THE BLAME. JG IS NOT EVEN A GOOD SEC QB, MUCH LESS ELITE!!! You don't get to Atlanta with a below average to average on the best days QB!!!
