Q Dormady officially named backup. What you expected?

I don't think Dobbs will go to the NFL. Not because he can't, but because he doesn't want to. Aerospace is a passion major.

No way Dobbs is NFL talent. Towles out of KY is the better prospect by far. Not enough arm to spin it.

A real challenge for an offensive coord. You have a #1 QB that is an option guy and a #2 that is a pro style pocket passer (as I understand). What's the implication?

Contrary to popular belief...Dormady is actually a quite good runner.

Clocked faster than Sheriron in the shuttle. I think they had the same 40 time. That doesn't necessarily translate to the field...Dobbs clocked slower than both. :)

This is what I expected since he was here for the spring. I still think Jones will end up being the best of this class however. He is going to be special imo.

This has to be one of the most vacuous and embarrassing threads on VN. We have people saying Towles is a much better pro QB than Dobbs, that Dobbs could lose the starting gig to a true freshman in Dorma(n)dy. And, last but not least, is UTVolKeith. I can't even figure out what message Keith is *trying* to communicate in this thread, but whatever it is, it ain't right!

Oh, and not to forget the whole "Dorma(n)dy is a pro-style pocket passer! How can we ever transition from all-legs Dobbs to legs stuck in the sand of the beaches of Normandy Dorma(n)dy!?!?"

This is just so encouraging for Vol fans. Here we have a clear #1 and a clear #2. It seems the coaching staff has confidence in both of them. Most SEC teams don't have confidence in one QB.

The situation this year looks like it was at Auburn for the past two years; the #1 QB has earned it, is a great threat to run and is entrenched. #2 QB is a better passer but is not experienced, but he gets playing time each year.

I am just going to enjoy this for the next two years!!!

I personally thought from watching highlights Sherion Jones was more talented that Dormady, but Dormady was an EE and i think thats what helped him win the backup job. I think JG is more talented then both of them and if Hunter Johnson comes in in 2017 hes more talented then all 3 and then its looking good for Trevor Lawrence in 2018 and hes rated the overall #1 prospect in the nation for 2018. So we should have some great QB battles for the next few years.

Butch Jones has blinders on as far as the QB position goes.

I'm positive of that.
Dormady would be the starter at bama if he would've signed there. Tennessee has a lot of talent at qb and pretty much a lock to land the consensus number 1 qb and overall prospect in 2018.

You ever consider Jones knew what he had in Dobbs and wanted another year out of him in eligibility.

We already saw with Worley that Butch doesn't adapt his offense to the QB. Also Dormady needs a better O-line than what we have

Bama got the best QB recruit on signing day in Blake Barnett. Saban doesn't start freshman unless they are insanely good

Based on what? How about we see what Dobbs can do over the course of a whole season.

Hate to be a jackass here, but no one on volnation cares about the KY qb.
