I was as disappointed as anybody after the loss. It felt like we were as bad the 2nd half as we were good the 1st.
Last night I watched the 2nd half again. It wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered (memory was a bit foggy). We moved the ball really well in the 3rd quarter. We had great field position and actually moved the ball well...it was a continuation of the 1st half, except we shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times and didn't come away with points. That's what young teams do, right?
The 4th quarter was a bit tougher to watch (knowing what was coming) but other than a couple of drops and ill timed penalties (again isn't that what a young team does?), Oklahoma (mainly Mayfield) made a handful of great plays that beat us. Again, what happens to young teams, right?
My point is the loss was disappointing and yes, we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory...but our talent is much better and will turn games like this into W's with some experience.
No need to go jumping off buildings and bridges just yet, boys...
GBO!
