At the beginning of the season, Adrian Martinez was the starting QB at Nebraska. The QB that took his place after the injury was also a scholarship QB. It wasn't until he got injured that the walk-on started.
Adrian Martinez wasn’t a walk-on. Dude was a top 150 player in the country coming out of high school and committed to UT at one pointI don't follow UCLA, so I've got no clue why they suck, but Scott Frost had to start a walk-on QB at Nebraska .
How do you think we would have faired with a walk-on considering we went 5-7 with JG?

Your initial post made it sound like Nebraska played a walk on all season. They played a walk on maybe 20% of snaps. Scott Frost may have done an okay job, maybe better than Pruitt but it’s year 1. Step away from the edge and give the guy a chance that’s all I’m askingNebraska had to start true freshman, and play a walk on QB when he got injured. That's how thin Nebraska's roster was, but yeah, tell yourself that Pruitt had it worse this year if that makes you feel better.
Yeah. But it included a very embarrassing loss to La Monroe. Hey, at least we beat our OOC cup cakes!
And as has also been pointed out, Kirby didn't do so hot his first year at uga either. At the same time, both those coaches brought in the no. 1 recruiting class in the nation and have big recruiting advantages over us. It will take Pruitt more time, but I believe he can get there.
Alabama only lost two games by more than double digits the previous year without Saban and even those were pretty close. Pruitt inherited a far worse situation. Go drink or something. The delirious fan base is just as repetitive as the Saban stats. We need to just accept we suck right now and give the man some time

Because fans like you want to condemn a UT coach to heck after a bad year 1. Year 1 is usually average to bad and is not indicative of future failure or success. Sharkboy went 10-4 in year one and trended down. Kirby had a bad year one and we’d all take the success he’s had this far at UGA in a heartbeat. Give the man a chance. He may suck like the last three. He may notAgain.....said for Kiffin, said for Dooley, said for Jones.....
I’m liking the direction the conversation is moving in. It’s not inapplicable. I’m not saying Pruitt is the next Saban or is even related to Saban. My only point was that the first season is not always indicative of future success or failure, perhaps I should’ve said more or elaborated on that since 30 people felt the need to tell me that they’ve read this post before, but the people are calling for change after year 1 are those my initial post is addressed toI'm not at the edge of anything. I've always said that Pruitt would get 4 years, but that doesn't insulate him from all criticisms until year 4.
You felt the need to start a thread with the tired, over-used, and inapplicable "but Saban in his first year..." justification for losing to Vandy and ending the season 5-7. Pruitt had a bad first year, as a first time head coach, in the end you are what your record says you are.
It also included beating the sh** out of us. You know, our last team to win the East?
