Man you gas light all day. No one said he’s a superstar. But Gibson had a great sophomore year, has started 13 games and played in 25, and the coaches felt like he was better than Redmond, which is why he was ahead of him on the depth chart. Calm down

Or you just don’t know what is going on and who is actually coaching. It’s amazing how much better our DBs have been since Coach ET started coaching them. And the transfers came in as studs that didn’t need much development.

Maybe know what is actually going on inside the building before trying to attack someone?

Yeah, McCoy showed up to campus a projected R1 pick, didn’t he? Everyone said so. And Hood showed up a projected 1 and done top 3 round pick, didn’t he? Redmond was a 3* recruit who made All SEC 3rd team as a true freshman. Those guys have been coached and developed at UT.

Willie Martinez is the CB coach and he coaches them. Heupel isn’t paying him to be the CB coach, only to let Earnest Thomas do the work of the CB coach. That would be stupid. If Thomas were doing the work of the CB coach, Josh would pay him and cut Willie loose. Thomas does a great job assisting in that area, but WM is the primary CB coach.

Whether our fans get it or not, WM is a very respected CB coach in the coaching industry.

Like I've said before, WM is a solid college DB coach. I believe after this season he will have the most drafted players since this staff been here for any position group.

My only minor gripe is recruiting. We need to recruit better out of HS in the secondary.

Ran down Klubnick easily. Had 7 tackles and 2 sacks I think?

Did nothing the rest of this year though. Very strange because that kid is very talented.

Believe what you want. I actually know people who watch practice and talk to the coaches. ET is a great DB coach and helped immensely. WM is close to Josh and a big reason why he was assistant to the head coach too. And he does most of the scouting for our DBs.

I think even if Banks were still here this was eventually the plan. Martinez has been looking at retirement for a few years, now maybe he moves into an advisory role or something or just moves to retirement.
