If I were in charge of the hire we wouldn’t have the last 3 clowns, and no Lane either. Why does this make any sense. Pruitt is not going anywhere. You know Bama fans wanted Saban fired after a couple years. Pruitt had alot to clean up. JG is not a SEC type quarterback. (He is a Butch Jones guy). I am glad you fans don't hire and fire football coaches.

Shula's last season was 6-7. We beat them by 3 points....last time we beat them BTW. They didn't get blown out by anybody. Lost 2 games be 2 scores...Florida and LSU. They beat their cupcakes soundly, and their other losses could have gone either way. That was 2006. They were 10-2 with losses to LSU by 3 points and Auburn by 10 points in 2005.he was handed an eh team at most. Bama has a long time down too.
Two years seems a bit rounded up. Sure 60 players are his recruits. They all should be starters in year 2?
Toss BM or JT out there. JG just doesn’t have it. I don’t know what the issue is. Rewatched some of the game and paid a lot of attention to him. He can’t read coverages. Can’t read safeties. Doesn’t even look at wide open guys. It’s bad. I actually liked some of Chaney’s calls. Felt he was trying to build momentum, but JG just isn’t capable.
The defense is completely sh#t. So the offense has got to pick it up. They need a spark. JG isn’t it. I’m not sure BM or JT are either, but I KNOW JG isn’t it.
Bama never sucked you know. They always had plenty of talent. We suck and have very little and it seems the best players we have get injured. Bama has 3 best players for every position. One goes down, the other steps up. When our best go down, a true Freshman 3 star has to step up, and then he gets hurt and never develops to his potential. Vicious cycle we seem to be stuck in.
If he loses eight or more games this year he'll stand a better chance of being appointed Tzar of Russia than he will coaching the Vols in 2020.Stands at five (5) million as of now.
UT Vols football: Two formulas for buyout in Pruitt's deal
Butch Jones' buyout was a little over eight (8) million.
Breaking down Butch Jones' contract buyout
Derek Dooley's buyout was five (5) million with total coaching buyouts totalling over nine (9) Million
Tennessee makes final buyout payment to Derek Dooley
Phillip Fulmer's buyout was six (6) million.
Fulmer to step aside as Tennessee coach
Boys, all we are is a get rich scheme for coaches. And, I doubt we are going to be firing Pruitt until the end of (next) football season.
Anything less than a bowl game will likely turn out the lights for Pruitt... unless he pulls off a miracle and lands a top ten recruiting class. If this season starts out 1-3 after the Florida game he might as well start updating his resume. Hard to believe where we are right now... this season AND in general. My bet is 3-9 gets him canned.
How long have you been employed by the UTAD?Gotcha. So we fire a coach that stunk, didn’t care, was a jerk, didn’t develop any players, or whatever numerous things he did or didn’t do. Then Pruitt comes in with hardly anytime to recruit anyone and play nearly the same players (minus the few that went up), and expect to turn the pile of trash into a Bama team. We’ve been trash for sometime. It’s not like he’s getting handed a winning team like Georgia. We haven’t had a solid season in a decade (or more). It ain’t going to be fixed in 1 year.
For the love of God and all things orange—please don't even go there.Just so you know, in case any of you guys are wondering, there is no buy out for Jon Gruden.
Jon Gruden: If I fail, I won't take Raiders' money
This X 1,000,000. We heard the exact same argument when Butch was driving the program further into the ditch than Dooley had left it - "we have to give him time to fix it." And we are incalculably worse off than if we had only had Butch for two years, or none. Why do people expect the situation to improve if he is given X amount of years to learn on the job? You won't get any return on that, you will have only furthered lowered expectations and the outlook on an already dismal program.
What must be done eventually, should be done immediately. Send him back to bama. He has shown nothing that points towards a brighter future for the VOLS. He looks lost and uninterested.
Y’all remember last year when Dana Holgerson manhandled us? Remember when Derek Mason manhandled us? Barry Odom?
You know what those coaches all have in common? They’re not good coaches. You know why they manhandled us? Because their schools aren’t playing musical coaches every few years. They have a set system, they recruit for that system, they have stability.
Win or lose, Pruitt gets 5 years. Don’t even bother looking at his buyout. Stability is what we need to finally start healing for the long term.
Could be worse. South Carolina’s buyout for Muschamp is more than $18M! He isn’t going anywhere with a buyout like that no matter what happens this year.Stands at five (5) million as of now.

I remember reading the same thing on here when Dooley was coach. How did that work out? Or when Botch was in his fifth year and the pumpers/AD employees were screaming that he would get three more years to turn it around?Y’all remember last year when Dana Holgerson manhandled us? Remember when Derek Mason manhandled us? Barry Odom?
