Pruitt wasn't good enough for MSU

You seem to be confused. They reported he accepted an offer. Which he did. Then Davenport didn't sign off on all he wanted. So . . .
..

K-town, there was a lot of false information reported by Hyams and others. The offer/acceptance from Brohm was simply not true. He did not interview for our HC position. Currie reached out to him 3 weeks ago to gauge his interest, but he told him he was not going to leave Purdue after one year.

He turned down the MSU job.

I do not know if true, but I wondered if he turned it down or MSU just picked someone else. Personally either way I'm glad he's not at MSU. In fact talk about eating crow, MSU may be if Pruitt comes in here and wins.

He slow played Miss St thinking he'd get a shot maybe at FSU.

He got a better job than Miss St so he was right in waiting.

That may be true. It's well documented that Pruitt had an offer from MSU though. He wanted to wait on UT. I even posted a link. There are several articles about it.

love the people that are like "how'd we get here, why are we even talking to guys like this?"

y'all been asleep for the last two weeks? lol. do we need to dredge up the litany of coaches that have said not interested or flat turned down an offer??

lol.

Using that logic, Tom Brady is a lousy quarterback because dozens of professional organization passed on him round after round. He was passed up over 150 times.

I can only tell you what my neighbor said. They had their sites set on Moorhead as the number one choice. It was all done very quietly and quickly with the President at MSU giving the AD full autonomy to make the decision. They did interview Pruitt, but they felt like an OC similar to Mullen was the better direction in their situation.

Some reported that he was indeed offered the job:

pruitt pulled a mullen and a kelly, and waited for something better to come his way.

What's left is the fat, gristle, bones, and flecked flesh on the once magnificent turkey plate (but it wasn't that great to begin with.)

Funny how so many assume its going to be Pruitt. First it was Gundy, then Leach, then Brohm, then Doeren, then Miles now its Pruitt.

I personally think its gping to be Steele and he will suck big time. But then again, none of us has a freaking clue.

OP, quit being a schlep. Pruitt is overdue for a head coaching gig.
Miss. State hired someone that wasn't on anyone else's radar. Pretty obvious there was some connection there.

teh wes rucker tweet about him turning the job down was fake. but still seeing things out there about Pruitt turning it down b/c we want him now, not after the playoffs.

as the silence grows more deafening, wondering if there is anything to it.

i'm to the point now that i might be upset if it's not pruitt.

You might want to prepare to be upset then.

I've been wondering about this myself. My guess, after last year, is that Saban is really pressuring him to stay. Look what happened to the offense when Lane left early. The year before, Kirby stayed and coached the final game and they won it all. I'd say Nick is not making it easy. You don't want to burn bridges, but Saban will be out of coaching in 4-6 years.

I don't blame Fulmer if Pruitt withdraws over this. We need someone 100% committed to this recruiting cycle.
