I’m optimistic. He’s real and doesn’t sound like a guy telling you what he thinks you want to hear. I think he tells it like he sees it. That’s refreshing. Pulling the staff he’s getting tells me in order to get those guys, he’s respected and guys believe in his ability. Speaks volumes. I say we get behind him, support the team, be patient and realize we’ve got a guy that won’t live off excuses and cliches and has seen firsthand what Championship football looks like. Own this state in recruiting!!

His dad looked proud as hell to me. That dude has been a head coach his whole life and probably dreaming of being a coach at this level, and he just witnessed his son being introduced as a HC at a major NCAA program.

which tells you what others in the coaching faternity think about the guy.

the only knock i've heard about pruitt is that he's no yes man, so much so, it's gotten him in trouble at times.

he has a clear vision, and if he perceives that someone isn't on the same page, he's not been scared to mention it. looudly. in public.

i think Phil can help him with that kind of stuff. you can get away with that to a ceratin degree when you're insulated by the kind of head coaches he's worked for.

it's all together different when you're the head guy.

i think if it's done right, this is a good marriage. and i credit Fulmer for going and getting someone that is "different" than what many of us expected him to go get.

I agree, he sounds like a coach, unlike our last couple of hires. While we won’t know for sure how good he is until we get to see some games, his staff has me very excited. The true success of a coach is determined by who he has around him, and with him being able to assemble what he has on the first day is a great start!

Nothing to do with being a Yankee just glad to have coaches with southern football and know how its played down hur in the dirty south.

Had a final, just got to watch the presser. I'm keeping a timer, in 3 more hours I may have to go to the ER for priopism.

I really liked the wall behind Coach Pruitt's introduction, with Tennessee helmets and jerseys. Pruitt seemed to fit right in as head coach of Tennessee, which surprised me a bit. Of course he has been around, DC at FSU and UGA before Bammer. He grew up in northern Alabama and has enough Tennessee in his background to know about us. He seemed proud to be our head coach.

He comes across like he's just a football coach. It's not about cute words and sayings like the last guy. Pruitt just wants to coach football. He's a defensive guy and hopefully that personality will rub off especially on our Dline. I'm all in on this hire.

I loved his comment that his defense would be aggressive and his DB's wouldn't play off be cause he wanted to challenge every yard. I never understood playing 10 yards off on 3rd & 4. :rock::rock::rock::rock:

Looking at your avatar I forgot how badass football uniforms used to look! The oversized shoulder pads, the large, protruding facemask, the neck roll, etc. Modern unis don't compare!
