Pruitt: This is what we have to do, and we have to do it together

The saddest part of all of this is the very people who actually need help are being placated to and further robbed of their individual humanity for the benefit of the white liberal elite. These people have dominated the lives of black people in nearly every way as their cities, schools, and law enforcement systems are owned and operated by the very Democratic Party members now decrying “systemic racism”.

Like most things in modern American life, this narrative is a cynical, political game. And telling another generation of our kids that America is a irredeemably racist, sexist, xenophobic hell hole will result in further animosity and strife, not less. God help us all.

That is indeed the saddest part, that the very people who need the help are the ones being harmed the most by a cynical sham to continue to bleed them dry and for those who are fully responsible for running these cities escape culpability by pointing to everything else but their own corruption and gross mismanagement deriving from their flawed ideas.

Spend five minutes reviewing the statistics on police encounters and use of force involving black males and you will quickly see what a farce this entire political narrative is. And that’s what it is - politics.

But listen, I get it. College football coaches certainly have motivation to stand with their players, who obviously have their own motives in buying into this narrative.

When you understand this is really about power and class, it clarifies the picture. Wealthy coaches want to remain wealthy coaches. CEOs want to remain CEOs. Academics want acceptance and tenure. Journalists want to stay on the NYC and DC dinner party circuit. Liberal politicians want to be re-elected and expand their political power.

Seems you forgot the term MORAL. While you make some points, at least to me it is a moral issue, not political.

I haven't heard it since about 1993, except from rapper talk. In '93, I was having a beer with a young friend on the deck of an Atlanta bar. We were WW kayakers and were relaxing after a river trip. This guy comes out and sits down near us and strikes up a conversation and immediately goes there. I was personally iǹsulted that he assumed I was amenable to such language. I threatened him with a quick trip over the deck rail if he didn't leave immediately. He went inside. My blood pressure spiked, I apologized to Mitchell (who was a big dude and probably re-enforced my case). He responded, "No problems, man. I'm Jewish." I'm no social justice warrior. But, probably like so many folks, I won't stand for it in my presence.
People who use that word are on a spectrum from ignorant to racist, IMO.

This reminds me of a girl I dated about 8 years ago. We dated for about 8 months before I met her parents. Both her and her father were educated and successful. I was 40 at the time, she was 33, and her father was in his 60's. Her father almost immediately starts with racist jokes and "the word" and apparently assumed that because we were all white as snow I was OK with the conversation. We didn't stay long. Unexpectedly she defended her father with some of her own racist remarks and that was the end of that relationship. I will always regret not speaking up to her father about it. Racism is real folks.

Of course it's real...but to pretend it's a one-way street is delusional.

Pruitt, shares the thoughts of many of us. I hate to admit there is still racist in america, but I hear the "N" word still.
People won’t like reading this, but what you say is true. I grew up in what I consider the most white racist part of the country, NE MS. I’ve got an ancestor on one side of my family who tied a black man to a stump and beat him to death. I’ve got ancestors on the other side who owned slaves. I grew up hearing the N word on a regular basis. Nobody wanted me to move to Jackson because there’s “too many blacks”. Believe me, racism definitely still exists. My wife and I fight it every time we visit my parents, aunts, uncles etc.

It’s not one way, but in my opinion the best way to fight it is one way. Whites teach whites to stop being stupid. Blacks teach blacks to stop being stupid. I’m trying convince the white racists I know that they are indeed ignorant. I wouldn’t tell a black person that because it would only fuel their anger.

Simply treating people how you want to be treated is also a simple answer.

Speaking from the end of the limb here, I would propose that no one here has suggested that racism doesn't exist. It afflicts the whole human race.

What a long diatribe of pure bs. I especially love the "liberal elite" part...as if Trump isn't a wealthy dude that filled up his admin with other wealthy folks and is supported by other elected GOP senators and congressmen who are also wealthy. You can't talk about class warfare and act like only one side is "elite" and holding everyone else down. I think it's also funny to say that the Democrats are holding black people down yet David Duke and other white supremacists are full-on Trumpers. Maybe you should tell them they're voting for the wrong folks...they would surely be grateful to know. But hey...you keep shifting blame and peddling in conspiracies if it helps you feel justified in your opinions. The facts simply don't back it up. That doesn't mean one party is guilty and the other isn't...they both have some blame to shoulder...but your post completely misses the mark.

Democratic party elite? yes they put down all you God fearing hard working backbone of america repubs, who never accept handouts or call in sick to work, your kind know what work boots are, and are proud to serve in the military, unless of course you have temporary bone spurs. Go wear your white sheet.

Or to suggest that it has not improved or that it is pervasive.

Kudos to @damcclure60 for not associating with racists. Let that fruit wither on the vine.

Whether people know my reputation or I just associate with "good" people... I literally do NOT hear people speak in racist terms. It isn't about race. It is about character and decisions.

This is abject racism.... not to mention ignorant.

Can you please explain what that is? I genuinely don't know.
It is the notion that your success was because you were given favorable treatment by other white people and not because you worked hard and tried to do the right thing. Conversely, it is the notion that black people fail because they aren't given favorable treatment rather than because of culture and individual immoral choices.

Not Pruitt related but I guess I was hoping college football would be spared the idiocy of the modern spoiled SJW wannabes. I was wrong

No, it isn't that at all. That's how a lot of white people take it because they don't take the time to learn what it actually is...which is, in and of itself, privilege. That way, you can just jump straight to indignation!

And for the record, I'm white. And I have white privilege. I try not to exercise it when possible.

So Chuba committed to and played for a racist, but only realized it once he saw an OAN shirt? Nevermind years of knowing the guy and seeing him interact with hundreds of black individuals, THIS SHIRT did it?

Does OAN support disrupting the black nuclear family? Is that the problem?
