I disagree that people can’t inspire others.
The hard part is finding the right motivation. I believe most people have a switch or button that when activated the light comes on and then they get it and are willing to put in the work to better themselves which will result in improvements for the team they are on.
Sometimes that motivation is a selfish one and they are only concerned for themselves to succeed. Even with that once they improve it will result in a better team performance.
When team members are working together to improve themselves and others there it typically a larger net gain than the selfish way.
Sometimes the individual matchups are a mismatch and the lesser has the responsibility to communicate that to their team and get help to get the job done. My best example is the left tackle vs the DE. If the DE has more experience, strength and has perfected their craft a less experienced, not as strong and underdeveloped LT may not be able to block a speed rush, a bull rush and definitely not.a type of stunt. When that happens and they are the obvious beat choice as LT adjustments have to be made. Run to the other side, keep a TE in to help, or have a RB ready to give a chip block. If a double team can’t get it done then a triple team is in order.
If players are willing to communicate the help they need on the field to their team that is the foundation of failure.
Sometimes the best way to beat a freak DE is to bring the fight to them by running right at them by bringing the kitchen sink.
