Interesting quote from Pruitt in his postgame presser. Don't have the video but here is the text.
We played about like I thought we would play. Being in this business for a while, you know when a team’s ready to play, and because of the circumstances that we faced during fall camp, I knew we wasn’t ready to play a game at a high level. But we actually played better in spurts than I was afraid that we would, and then there was times that we didn’t sustain.

This is honesty. But it's not a healthy one.

Here's why...
His perception is that his football team is at or near it's capacity with the given talent. It reeks of complacency in the developing production of his team dynamic...
This team is FAR more talented than 4 point victory over a South Carolina team that can't even win the Sun Belt Conference.

If there is not drastic change in this team's psychological approach, then UGA, BAMA, and UF will beat us by 30 points each...again.

This was more of the same from the past years. They won't win another game this season if they play this bad...

I got the complete opposite out of that.

My take was -
"We were completely under prepared and nowhere near what I believe our capacity should be. But Holy Sh!t. Despite not being ready we pulled one out our arse & won..... With the limited practice we've had, I was afraid we might play really sloppy".

I thought they played pretty well. Had a tough time stopping slants on defense (a common occurrence my entire life as a Vol fan, BTW) but otherwise pretty locked in on defense. Offense played well in just about every phase except the most important one... QB. And then it wasn't like guarantano was awful, he was just inconsistent (nothing new). Didn't turn the ball over. Good fundamental football for a win. Better than a week one loss to Georgia state.

To me the remarkable take away from this is just how many players and practices we missed during camp and yet still won an SEC road game. He said timing was off with WRs because most of them have been out for long periods of time and just got the group back 5 days ago. That explains a lot.

Yep, clean it up just a little and this bunch is capable of winning some games.
