Pruitt "obviously" in trouble

Then why do we have CJP? Why did we have the most embarrassing coaching search in modern college football history previously? And...... most of all...... why are we currently ranked about #90?

I get the "rah rah" idea but seriously...... why are we here AGAIN if this is a top 10 job?

Because we have not been willing to act in a timely manner. We could have had Mullens, but we were too slow to act. And we don't know what money was offered for others. Anytime you are after a successful coach who is currently coaching you should know the other school will offer a raise and be prepared for it, if not, never any need to go after an active successful coach in the p5. You have to give them a considerable raise for them to leave their current school.

Lack of institutional control. Fire Pruitt for cause and move on from the Sh*t show. Have someone with a brain write the next contract and have Fulmer be a fat trophy wife as AD but nothing else.

Any order
Campbell
Chadwell
Gus
Freeze

Again...Have someone do the contract stuff and just let Fulmer be a figure head only

In no particular order....

Clemson
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
Texas
USC
Ohio State
Penn State
Texas A&M
LSU
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
Alabama
Auburn
Oregon

Arguments can also be made for
Florida State
Miami
Michigan
Washington
Eh, I’d completely disagree with Oregon. I also think people are overrating the Clemson job. Dabo has had an amazing run, but I don’t think it’s truly one of the premier jobs in the country.

If you put a blind man in a Ferrari, it isn't the ferraris fault he can't drive fast.

Oregon because of NIKE money and the PAC-12 competition.

Clemson has always had this capability, just never done it. The other factor is the lack of competition. I mean who does Clemson have to beat every year. FSU and Miami. And if those two are down, not even them.

If I was a coach, the Clemson job is easily more attractive.

Tennessee is smack dab in the middle of that list. In no particular order, of course.

There are two parts to rating college coaching jobs. Potential, and actual benefits.

In potential, Tennessee fits right in with the best. In actual benefits (pay, control, independence, etc.), it varies from year to year and hire to hire. Volunteers can be right at the top in all of that, if our administration makes the choice to be. But the important thing is, it changes frequently.

So, what's left is potential. And we're right in that mix. Thanks for leaving us off the list, though, alligator. One would think you're not a Tennessee fan or something.

GTFO! You hurt my feelings!
Have to say you’re probably right. We’re hanging on to somewhere between 15 and 20ish....dropping fast.

Why not go ahead and list Auburn 3x?

A lot of these are the same job. Capability with the right person.

There's no resource difference between USC, Clemson, Oklahoma, Penn State, LSU, Auburn, Oregon, FSU, Miami, Michigan, or Tennessee. I believe Tennessee ranks higher than all of those programs in income some years.

They're all loaded and have the brand and $$$ and some have the history to do great things with the right person. I'd argue the difference is pretty coach specific - with various weights applied based on recruiting ties, regional talent, weather, relationship with AD, etc.

ND, Texas, Florida, and Alabama would probably be what I consider the 4 best jobs in the country if I threw fanhood aside and only considered objective variable$.

You're forgetting the other aspect of this, which is the hurdles one most overcome out of the gate.

The main thing that makes the Tennessee job unattractive compared to the others is that while I am trying to build a program, I have to deal with Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. And those other programs.....like an Oregon.....don't have to deal with that.

A new coach would rather take a path of least resistance if money and other factors are similar.
