Pruitt keeps his job if...

Do you realize that the Vols were prevented from having spring practice while several of their opponents got theirs completed prior to being stopped because of the virus. Do you also realize that of the 10 teams on the UT schedule several were rated in the top 10 and others were in the top 25. With the poor situation that Dooley and Jones left the UT program it was in the worst shape in the last 35 years. It required a total rebuild that would take 5 years before any progress was really made...look how long it took Clemson to rebuild and where they are now. The absolute worse thing that could happen now would be a coaching change. Pruitt is slowly adding players of SEC caliber...Jone left him with no speed and only one lineman above 300 pounds. The schedule change to all 10 SEC teams worsened chances of having a 7 - 5 winning record. Let's support Coach Pruitt...he will get us competitive again. Remember he has to play Georgia, Florida and Alabama every year. Eventually, we will get competitive with them again.

Pruitt keeps his job if he wins out. Otherwise I think he needs to go. The probability of him winning out is about 0% chance. Even coaches like muschamp and McElwain at Florida still won games they were supposed to most of the time. So what keeps Pruitt’s job 3-7 with a VANDY win? I say nah, the writing is on the wall, gotta move on.
Maybe fire Fulmer to send a message to Pruitt. It would be kinda like Pruitt waking up in the morning and finding Fulmer's head in his bed.

Last year we won the SEC:

Seinfeld was on the air

Paypal was founded

CompuServe was bought by AOL

World Trade Towers stood for 3 more years

Roy Rogers was alive

MurphyVol was cruising the streets talking on this like a baller

Remember the $bill for that thing......

I remember when people first had carphones, and would pull over to use pay phones LOL

Has not even come close to meeting expectations.

Is trending down, not up. Everything is falling apart.

Appears to have no actual answers to the multitude of problems.

Just wasted 1.6 million dollars on a coach he didn't even interview.

Consistently makes mistakes during the game, prior to the game, and in the press conference after the game, that he should have learned to avoid by now.

Over 30 games is plenty sample size. He's not growing as a coach and his players are not growing as a team.

But we gave him an undeserved contract and extension so outrageous that we can't afford to correct our mistake.

And this is a school that offers business degrees? Shame.

I hate to break it to you buddy but Pruitt isn't getting fired even if he loses the rest of these games. Assuming all these games get played and the season isn't cancelled.

In the early 2000s, I read that Tennessee was one of 7 programs to no longer allow academic exceptions for athletes. An academic exception is when the high school student has the grades or test scores to meet the minimum requirements to be eligible with the NCAA but doesn't meet the academic requirements for their chosen university. The other programs at the time were Texas, Purdue, Air Force, Kansas State,
UConn, and Virginia. Does anyone know if this is still in effect? It would certainly go a long way in explaining the last 15 years.

Pruitt keeps his job if

UT really is $40,000,000.00 to $50,000,000.00
In debt

You can bet on it!

Even if he loses out he ain’t goin nowhere. They will find some sacrificial lamb on the staff to fire and claim that he was the problem.

The first salvo comes from Columbia.

Boyd needs to go to our big money people and ask if they will pay the buyouts for a big name.
If they say yes, he gives Fulmer a list and says that Phil can contact their agents or he will.
As I said before, if we make a hire it will most likely not be of Phils choosing. He may introduce him at a presser or walk him out, but he AINT hiring anyone IMO.

Just curious if the no one is getting fired during a covid year crowd is still around?
I still think Pruitt is not getting fired this year no matter what.

Not saying I agree with that, but I do believe it. He may be the only coach we have had who loses 8 games, gets beat by UK and Vandy, yet still keeps his job.

That just shows me how revenue>>>winning at UT. Before I re-up my donation and season tickets, UT is going to have to show me they are committed to winning.
