LOL. I've been guilty of exactly that. An F-14 pilot unknowingly turned his exhaust towards me as I stood on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. I was comfortable, daydreaming during a delay waiting to launch an aircraft assigned to me. My helmet was unstrapped as a sudden heat tornado knocked me off my feet from behind, I turned around to look and my helmet blew off my head as I grabbed to save it. I tumbled across the deck for a few seconds until the wind stopped. When I looked up, I could see others were trying to warn me, but I couldn't hear the guys because of the jet noise and I was not paying attention. Singed my eyebrows and burnt hair on my arms (trying to cover my head), but I was OK. Just a stupid lapse of attention on my part. Worst part was I had my trainees there watching, trying to warn me as I was not paying attention.
That was more just like what we as Fans Say sometimes like kill the umpire. Former did have a tendency to leave him his starting quarterbacks longer than most coaches do and the television people just stuck the camera in Ford's face at a time when he was likely to come up with some frustrated comment. Ford did not order his players to go out and hurt Shuler (I thought it was Peyton but time runs together for me)I lost all respect for Danny Ford when he was at Arkansas. When the sideline camera caught him saying that he hoped Heath Shuler would tear up his knee that did it for me.
It was 1993 and best I remember, we weren't up by all that much. Something like 28-7.That was more just like what we as Fans Say sometimes like kill the umpire.
