The way for a Clemson coach to succeed is to just sit back and let the dirty details of recruiting take care of themselves. West and Bowden tried to get too involved so therefore they were unsuccessful. Charley Pell did a masterful job of teaching IPTAY the intricacies of recruiting at a high level to the extent that they are probably the best in the business. Dabo I think realizes this and knows to just stay out of the way.And then the fans will go back into hibernation!
Danny Ford was pretty darn good at that until 1989The way for a Clemson coach to succeed is to just sit back and let the dirty details of recruiting take care of themselves. I can't find the quote anywhere but I'm pretty sure I remember from one of his press conferences after a spring practice that he said one thing he was disappointed in was a lack of physicality. He said he wasn't scared of anyone accidentally running into him in practice cause it wouldn't hurt, and that was a bad sign. So the way I see it, he got what he wants and we're practicing much more physically than we were in the spring. And that is a good sign to me.
