well to hear you tell it, before you go put on any orange, you may want to head down to your local JC Penny and pick something up, cause i doubt the crap you've had in your closet since 1998 fits anymore. That is what I said. And I will get to wear orange, and be a fan...just the same as you super fans.

and we're not super fans.
we're just plain old, regular, ACTUAL, fans. YOU as a self described bandwagon, fair weather fan, wouldn't know the difference. to you, i'm sure what most of us do as regular old fans seems super human....you know, like wear the gear in summer, actually watch the game, invite people over to watch cause it's supposed to be fun, or maybe even go to a game every now and then....
"ive been fan longer than you"...that's how you start that?I've been a fan probably longer than you and my gear fits just fine...unlike you (probably) I'm actually still in good shape. Watching Tennessee football IS supposed to be fun. Can you honestly say it has been? If so, great for you, but don't expect everyone else to spew rainbows and unicorns.
So you’re a mortician with a six pack? You zombies need to find a different crutch metaphor to replace “rainbows and unicorns”...really tired out. So if it ain’t fun for you...why you at it? Tradition?I've been a fan probably longer than you and my gear fits just fine...unlike you (probably) I'm actually still in good shape. Watching Tennessee football IS supposed to be fun. Can you honestly say it has been? If so, great for you, but don't expect everyone else to spew rainbows and unicorns.
PS:. There haven't been any Fairweather or bandwagon fans for several years now.
I would miss you demanding everyone to be better fans too much."ive been fan longer than you"...that's how you start that?
witty. and i think what you meant to say was "i've been a fan, at times when they're worthy of it, longer than you"
and yeah, it has been fun at times this year. i had a good time watching the GA game for a while. had a blast during the Auburn game. and even for the USCe game. and i had fun tail gaiting for the WVU game, and i really enjoyed the 2nd qtr of the WVU game.
but again, i wouldn't expect you to get that, you know, seeing as how you only do it part time, and only find satisfaction during the "best of times".......why dn't you check back in 3 years and see how things are going, and whether or not their worthy of your time?
seems that would be best for you...............
I don't see why his timeline is totally unreasonable. There's a reason people fixate on "year 3." It isn't pulled out of thin air. Pruitt's first recruiting class are juniors in year 3, and the vast majority of the team will be made up of players he recruited and developed. I can see an argument made that you give a coach 4 years, because in year 4 the first recruiting class that was totally "yours" (i.e., not made up of guys who committed to the previous staff but rather guys solely you recruited) are juniors and make up the core of the team.
If he is not beating the lower tier of the conference and competitive (winning some, losing some, and not getting blown out) with the upper tier of the conference in 3 or 4 years, it is totally fair to question if it will happen with him. Tennessee and Kentucky are not the same type of football program, to say the least. We have structural advantages in football over a program like Kentucky, and it shouldn't take 6 years to get something going.
I'm not saying fire in year 3 if there aren't 9 or 10 wins. You shouldn't have a hard and fast rule. But it is totally fair to develop an opinion on what kind of coach you have at that point. Even Dabo, who is thought to have taken longer than most coaches to get his program humming, had Clemson much improved in 3-4 years. They were still "Clemsoning" but better than Bowden.
Pr'olly didn't help that he decided to split time to coach Bama in the BCS and pick up that nice $234,000 bonus in the process. Whatever. Water under the bridge and such. With the early signing period, he did not get to recruit as many of his own guys and had to keep a few of Jones’ recruits. This is his first real cycle and is why he should get five years UNLESS he has a real epic meltdown like we saw with Butch with massive attrition and the AJ / title 9 stuff. I am tired of constantly thinking we can change coaches every three years. If CJP can’t get it done, we will be done for at least another decade or two.
Chip Kelly stuck around ESPN until after the playoffs instead of joining his team...and he was still receiving multi-MILLION buyouts from the Eagles AND Niners.Pr'olly didn't help that he decided to split time to coach Bama in the BCS and pick up that nice $234,000 bonus in the process.
