Pruitt about to land an epic recruiting class...

Pruitt has said on national TV he needs guys to build this program. That screams “the players we have now aren’t it”

Hard to see kids decommitting due to this game.

If anything it screams to our OL recruits, they will play right away.

I hope you are right. It just makes me think that guys like Pappoe or Wright may look at this and think we are going backwards. Of course, I could very well be overreacting to a terrible performance.

Yes- Pruitt’s first two classes will bear the brunt of the rebuilding struggles and prolly won’t have a fabulous 4 year W/L record, but Pruitt and staff have a track record getting people to the NFL and development. Yes at Tennessee, you will play earlier than the Bama’s, Georgia’s, and Florida State’s, but Pruitt’s system of development isn’t going to change because of a bad first year into his coaching career.

Pruitt won’t magically lose commits based on this season or game’s results.

His development pedigree speaks for itself. This isn’t Butch trying sell playing time right away and “we’ll see what happens”

The guy hasn’t stayed anywhere long enough to have a development pedigree.

Lol. Bama for years and UGA multiple years and has been credited to changing the saggy culture at UGA Under Mark Richt.

Sorry but the only place you can use that argument is Florida State.

Recruiting is a good thing BUT many times players don't pan out.
Daniel Brooks, LaMarcus Coker, James Banks, Mark Levine, Leonard Scott,
Also, there are times when good recruits are not used properly
Or coaches don't develops players or coaches don't make good calls and put players in position to succeed
We should have beaten this team by 35. We also should have beaten USC.
I have heard this song before plenty of times and know how it ends
Same as the Dooley song or Butch song

"this team is no better than last year"
REALLY? Do some of you folks even stop and think a few seconds after typing this stuff before hitting post reply?
Do you think Butch's 2017 team even keeps within three TDs of Auburn at home? Much less beat them on the road? By objective evidence it can be demonstrated that this year's team is obviously better than last year's. This team has an SEC win. And I think they get at least two more by the end of the season.

That was the last win of this season. They should have beat these guys by 35 points.
Next year will be better but you won't see a difference on the field. We still lose a lot next season
Many freshmen will play and Kirkland, Calloway, Jennings, Abernathy, TKJ etc will be gone
There will be improvement but not on the scoreboard

Not sure how it turns out... but more than those two guys Pruitt seems to be doing his own talent evals. Jones in particular had no clue how to evaluate talent, put a roster together, develop players, or keep guys healthy. Interesting that many of the same people who drooled all over themselves to make excuses for Jones are now writing Pruitt off.

Again, I don't know if he'll get it done or not. But he's an actual football coach rather than a used car salesman.

Not sure how you are putting James Bank as a player who didn’t pan out. He was a QB that moved to WR because the Ice Man was a stud QB. The rest? For sure. But Banks was no where near a bust or athlete who didn’t pan out.

To be honest I'm not that familiar with Pruitt's record of development of players, but who has he developed from a 3-star recruit to a 4 or 5 star player?

I’d argue he has hardly recruited a lot of 3 stars. Winning programs get their fair share of 4-5 stars. Pruitt will recruit to be successful and part of being successful is development. The guy can do it. You don’t move up the latter as much as he has without having success.

In regards to who, my response is basically his from the Bama game, he needs 25 more guys that want to do it the right way. Basically that comment screamed Butch’s players haven’t bought in 100%.

Go look at the stats. It's online.

No they aren't. Our passing and defensive stats are improved. Run game, not so much, but like Meatloaf says, "two outta three ain't bad"

Here's another stat. We beat an SEC team this year. On the road. And it was a West team. And I think we can at least beat Vandy to close out the year.

Pruitt is never going to have the level of talent at UT that he has had as a coordinator at other stops. If he can't develop some 3-stars, then he won't find success here.

If he wins, he will get his fair share of top recruits. At the end of the day, it’s all about coaching and development and winning that gets top classes year after year. You think Bama is getting top classes because of the Waffle House and O’Charley’s in Tuscaloosa?

Just remember guys, we are one week closer to getting those “25 guys” that will take the place of the losers currently on the roster
I bet you still believe in Santa and the tooth fairy. We are 6th in the SEC. Pruitt can talk the talk but he cant walk the walk

He's got to win with the majority 3-stars before he's got a chance at the 4-5 stars whose first choice is Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Clemson etc.

He’s gonna recruit top 12-15 classes out of the gate with a crappy team for year 1 and 2. As long as he stays at or above Butch’s win total after year 3, he will get top 10 classes and challenge for Top 5 classes. It’s literally what Saban, Dabo, and folks like Richt and Smart did.

There is zero concern and there shouldn’t be any concern that Pruitt won’t be able to recruit top ten classes here.

Ah forgot about you. You’re the one who passed final judgment on a coach’s career 8 games into his head coaching career. You’re a funny guy.

The current class has 12 3-stars in it. Double what Auburn has as the 5th ranked sec class has just above us. Pruitt is still going to have to develop 3-stars to have success over our rivals who have ready-made recruiting grounds in their home states.

Once again- Pruitt won’t instantly walk into top 5-10 classes in the first year or two. As long as his first class or two show improvement and develop, he will trend up in recruiting. I firmly believe that. Is there any proof to dispute that or prove it? No. Call it a hunch. If that hunch doesn’t pan out, me and you will get together for the Florida game in Year 3 for steaks, cigars, and Bourbon! Deal?
