Pruitt about to land an epic recruiting class...

so? and i'd be willing to wager that if we do get Wright, to go with Morris, they'll both see the field plenty next season.

where is it written that if they aren't AA's as true freshmen that's some sort of failure?

Offensive lines aren't built in a single off-season, regardless of how epic 1-2 players are on the recruiting sheet. It's going to take a lot more than dropping in two freshmen into this line to make it SEC-caliber; it's not going to happen in 2019, and possibly not even in 2020.

you're looking at potentially getting the #1 and #2 tackles in the country in this class, 2 top 15 guards Naitonally in this class, and another giant guard/tackle, and maybe even another 4* guard.

i say again, where is it written that if they aren't all everything in year 1 that it's a failure?

they will have the opportunity to play earlier than probably anyone would like them to HAVE to. but they will have to. and they will develop.

you asked what was epic about this class, i gave you one position group that has that potential. why you went off railing on it not being good enough, no idea.

Where did I say failure? I said impact.

If the portion of this recruiting class that pushes it into the epic category, is the o-line recruiting, then we should temper our expectations for 2019, because adding 1-2 freshmen linemen into the mix is not going to drastically improve this line, regardless of their star ratings, especially with Trey Smith's football career likely being over.

The class is pretty much full. The last few remaining spots probably are reserved for the elite guys and they are not gonna go public anytime soon.

This is said almost every year at this point. The fact is, TN is still in on some big time recruits. Now some we are losing favor with like Crouch and Bogle. But they haven't completely eliminated us. Wright, Pappoe, Henry T and some others are in play. There is a slim possibility that the #1 WR might give us a look. The numbers arent as tight as you think. If the staff feels they can get better players than we have now, then they will do so.

He’s basically saying this is a deja vu type thread. Each one of those coaches had the same thing said during most years, it rarely pans out that way.

I know this is Captain Obvious material but he’s gotta beat Mullin and Kirby on the recruiting trail on a frequent basis or its gonna be hard to surpass them at the top of the SEC East

Weve got to beat scar, UK, vandy, and mizzou before we start worrying about UGA and Florida. Reality sucks.

This forum had nothing to do with Schiano not being hired. We could have ranted and raved for days on end to no avail. Charlie Egan, Charlie Anderson, Raja Jubran, and a handful of other outspoken boosters are the reason Schiano wasn't hired.

UT only hears the voices of those who consistently write large checks to the university.

Ergen* and Jubran is a close friend of the Haslams, he was in full support of Schiano and the public release of emails proved that. Agree with the sentiment though.

there's a chance we could sign 6 OL. 2 of which would be the #1 and #2 OT's in the country, both 5* recruits. plus 4* guard and potentially another 4* guard that could be a flip. and 2 3*'s that most think have very high celings.
the OL potential in this class is high. if nothing else, that would be a huge way to start off the pruitt era in recruiting.
I told some of ya'll a few months ago in other strings we had folks, that just cannot believe anybody gets a million dollars a year to coach UT football much less more than that. They knew Billy Bob from the feed store who coached the peewees at the Rec center that won the county championship 4 years in a row who would do it for $50K per year. For those that thought it was comical and surreal, nay nay I say, just read through this thread, he's here, and he gets likes.
were you kicked in the head by a mule?

Just remember guys, we are one week closer to getting those “25 guys” that will take the place of the losers currently on the roster

Yeah you might want to rethink that a little. If, and its a big if we win this game, I suspect our chances of landing a really good recruiting class will evaporate.

Pruitt won’t magically lose commits based on this season or game’s results.

His development pedigree speaks for itself. This isn’t Butch trying sell playing time right away and “we’ll see what happens”

I could see some guys decommitting because of this game. If you are a recruit, do you see improvement? I hipe I am wrong. But I was feeling pretty positive about the team before today. But this is bad on an epice level. I mean there is a real chance Charlotte can win against Tennessee in Neyland. Thats unthinkable.

Pruitt has said on national TV he needs guys to build this program. That screams “the players we have now aren’t it”

Hard to see kids decommitting due to this game.

If anything it screams to our OL recruits, they will play right away.
