Propst asserts Kirby and Saban pay players big bucks

Nothing will happen with LSU. Emmert was president at LSU and is the one who hired Little Nicky. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU has some dirt on Emmert. Bama is untouchable as long as Emmert is the NCAA president as he and Nick are very good friends. I don't think TN is powerless and now is the time to start using some leverage with this corrupt organization.
And Emmert just was extended until 2025 so saban will stay at bummer until then unless he strokes out, dies from covid, or a tornado hits tuscaloosa.

The bottom line is, UGA doesn't have to buy players.

Correct. Recruits: When you grow up in state and root for the home team, the team is better than average, with solid potential to go pro... you don't have to pay. Players go to institutions that gives them the best chance to turn pro. Trey Hill slid in the draft because cornbread and lack of development.

LMAO. Absolutely. And when they visit uga, they are met with rainbows and unicorns, with soft pan flute music providing the backfrop of what is the bestest, most perfect, most awesomest place in the history of ever.

Grow up. College football is a dirty business. Every major program breaks the rules, and payoffs are more common than any of us care to admit, particularly with respect to our own school. To pretend uga is some oasis of virtue that attracts recruits out of pure goodness is about as naive as it can be.

uga fans. They just kill me.

I think it is kind of like rape in prison... Everyone knows that it happens, but how do you stop it? What do you do? How do you police a donor making a cash drop to a recruits family. You can not stop it. Everyone involved in the deal is dirty so know one will talk because they would incriminate themselves.

On taped phone calls played on "Outside the Lines", Propst says Kirby gets and retains players by "taking care of their families" and paying them "$90K-$150K", with the support of the "richest of the rich" UGA boosters from SW GA. Propst went on to say Kirby learned that from Saban. Propst later denied those statements were based in fact. But, as the HC at Hoover and Valdosta, he was in a position to know. Where do you think Pruitt learned what it takes to get and retain top tier players (Gray, Crouch & To'oto'o?)? Did Pruitt tell Propst about Saban's alleged player payments? Because the NCAA does not have the burden of proving the allegations in court, all they have to do is look at the vehicles driven by UGA and Bama players and the lifestyle improvement of their families to validate or discredit Propst's statements.

They will be paid by the same boosters not to look at that. And these payments will be in something like Ruth Chris Bags.

Don't hand McDonald's bags full of money to recruits. Get mom and dad a good job, or send them some money, like Nick and Kirby.

Actually, the place to look is in on line casino accounts. Booster puts funds in accounts, gives account info to someone in players circle.
They can withdraw as needed and casino info is extremely hard for officials to subpoena. Add the fact that if no Federal or State laws are being broken so FBI doesnt care...
this DOES OCCUR. The NCAA Has Zero Power to obtain this info.

Yeah your right offer would’ve been before Kirby was hired. Fact check this one, but I think Daijuan Edwards was offered before Propst “left” CC so he would’ve been in the middle of that recruitment.
After. Propst was relieved of his duties March 2019 (giving kids illegal pills), UGA offered end of year 2019 (Nov/Dec 2019), he committed about a week before NSD in 2020.

Propst also showing his ignorance trying to sound important named the least likely candidate to do shady stuff, Chubb. As Nick said himself, if it was about money, he would have just went pro for millions instead of pennies like Propst claimed. Common sense for most folks yet some want to believe it. Chubb comes from a very well off family, they own their own town, have since the 1800s.

I have no idea how much, if any, of this is true but know a former NFL player that told me the following story that must have happened in the early 70's.

He was being widely recruited. On one trip to what was at the time a Big 8 school he was met at the airport and taken to a motel room where the guy who met him opened a suitcase with $50,000 (a lot of money at the time). Told him it was his if he signed.
He spent a weekend there but didn't sign.

He later signed with a PAC 10 school. Said he had a "high paying" summer job as a "groundskeeper" for a multimillionaire supporter who had a huge estate with several acres of grounds. Said all he did was workout at the guys private gym.

Sammy The Bull Gravano was a murderer & mafia leader but he was under oath & helped put John Gotti away for life. Not all low life's lie all the time
Sammy was a rat POS. The wiretaps are what put Gotti away though, Gravano mainly helped just identify what people's nicknames were and what their relationship to each other was. They didn't have to rely on him too much, Gotti hung himself running his mouth. I studied that whole deal pretty extensively for a project my third year in law school. Fascinating stuff.

If you believe anything Probst says you have a major problem with reality.
According to a source in Bridgeport, when Probst was a little boy he cried wolf so loud they heard it all the way on top of Sand Mountain.

I was playing golf at a course in Knoxville in 1979 when a very famous UT player showed up in a new corvette. I can guarantee that his family could not afford it. He came from a very poor big city neighborhood. So it has been going on for some time.
Players family members have been "Loaned" new cars for years. When the player is driving it, it's merely "on loan". No transfer...no financial traceable benefit. My line coach played at Bama in the Namath years. One of the incentives he told me about when he wanted to take me there on a recruiting trip was the envelopes stuffed with cash that were slipped under the doors in the player's dorm on Friday night before gameday. Cash in McDonald's bags is nothing new or creative. Geeezzz, C'mon Man...sure, the NCAA can do some kind of "Crack Down". Drop the hammer, call in the FBI...and the whole thing ($$$$$ to players) will simply submerge and be done more creatively. Maybe player's families suddenly find themselves with a bank account in the Cayman Islands ????

Different references give different statistics but on a per capita basis no area comes close to American Samoa

Odds of a male American Samoa playing in the NFL is 56 times higher than the average of those born in the USA.

American football is the most popular sport in American Samoa. Per capita, the SamoanIslands have produced the highest number of NFL players. It's estimated that a boy born to Samoan parents is 56 times more likely to get into the NFL than any other boy in America.

This is the game and anyone who thinks it is "pure" doesn't want to know the truth. In every major sport where boosters put their influence on these programs there is money changing hands. Until someone goes to jail for it, or a school gets their sports programs shut down it will continue to happen.

If anyone actually cared this could be taken care of by the IRS relatively quickly.

So, how much did we pay Peyton to come here, you reckon?

There is likely an exception for kids who already come from substantial wealth. Few and far between. In Peyton’s case, I believe he came because of Cut, figuring he had the best chance to develop under his tutelage. I’m glad he never visited uga, because the purity and perfection of that place is apparently irresistible.

As for the other kids those great 90s teams?? I’ve no doubt we broke the rules repeatedly as we assembled those amazing teams. With the exception of uga, where they apparently recruit on the goodness of rainbows and unicorns and the purity and goodness of all things uga, I suspect every major successful program fractures the rules to bring and keep players.

Your assessment is that uga doesn't have to cheat because there is lots of talent in the state? A quick look at the roster I see players from CA, NV, FL and NC just right off the top. Why? Doesn't uga only have the best players from the state? But then why doesn't uga get all the best players from Georiga? A quick look at rivals shows the number 1 player in the state and 3 of the top 10 are all committed to... Ohio State? Only 1/10 so far committed to uga? Second, someone living in Georgia doesn't automatically make them a uga fan anymore than someone living in Tennessee is automatically a UT fan. And even when they are UT fans in the likes of Trevor Lawrence and Amari Rodgers, they don't just go to their favorite school. According to Inky Johnson, most of your talented recruits aren't even CFB fans, they are NFL fans and their desire is to get to the NFL whichever way possible.

Nailed it. uga fans are peculiar. As I have said before, they are a lot like Labradors - constantly seeking affirmation of their worth and reassurances that they are the bestests in the history of ever.

The assertion that uga is some lily white recruiting program because of awesomeness and unicorns is the most laughable thing yet. All of the fans with a misspelled 'dog' in their name, as well as the Zippy dude should be embarrassed it was even posted.
