Pro Style Offense

Sure, idc.

But it makes me wonder, was it Hurd or Butch? Hurd gets the blame as he should but a lot of folks on here blame CBJ for destroying the team and lying. What if he did that to Hurd? Didn't he basically tell him we would run under center the season he quit?[/QUOTE

Yep, that whats makes me ask the question, Hurd may not have been all at fault. While I personally think he was a better TE than a RB he did have some skills and, a different O line with a different scheme, different attitude he may look awesome.

You do realize that he was going to be our all time leading rusher in his Jr. year right? Everybody says that Kamara should have played over him from the beggining, well he started getting more touches and Hurd left.

There are still people defending Butch!? LMAO
His offense was absolute garbage.
Josh Dobbs was the only reason it sort of worked because after the play broke down he improvised.

We'll probably run a Multiple, and the good news is that Chryst knows how to properly execute play action.

I think Chryst could be a weapon...he's savy enough above the shoulder pads to help this team win...

Something we desperately need...

I don't care what it's called as long as it's what's being used extensively in the NFL (so that NFL prospects sign with TN), the QB doesn't have to be a primary runner, the 15+ yard downfield pass is used at least once or twice per possession rather than 3 or 4 times per game, we're not married to: the shot gun formation, jet sweeps, and a dink & dunk passing attack, and the offensive line is full of road grading monsters. Also, it needs to include an attack that can burn some clock and allow the defense to catch their breath. Basically the opposite of Butch-ball.

The defense lost us all of those games. Well, we got conservative against OU ill give you that but our defense collapsed against UF and A&M. I believe we gave up almost 800 yards against A&M.

I agree K-Town. I believe there was a lot of things that lost the OU game but if Dobbs had snapped the ball in our drives in the 3rd and 4th with 8-10 secs less left on the clock, OU would have gone home with an L. That's on CBJ, DeBord, and Dobbs.

Just put the best players on the field and run the offense that helps those players succeed!
Who cares if it's a Grad Trans or a 4/5* HS hometown legend.

I know this has been discussed some in other threads, but If Hurd were in game shape, if he apologized to the team, if the team accepted the apology, if CJP would allow him back....would you be for Hurd coming back to a pro set offense?

No. Plus, Hurd is a WR at Baylor now, he’s not available. And even if he were, the answer is definitely no......we’ve seen enough of his mediocrity at Tennessee.

I can't wait to see our new Pro Style Offense. I hope it's a mix of run and pass. With a fullback blocking. It just didn't seem right with us running that spread crap the last few years. Hopefully it will get us back to our old identity where we used to control the line of scrimmage and run on teams at will!

You think our offense was bad last year wait until you see this version...Probably gonna be snooze fest 2018...Yes I hate pro style offenses in todays world....Just install the wishbone and make it exciting.

I wish somebody would explain the magical difference between Pro and Spread since every NFL team has been in spread formations since the 90s.

I’ve been trying to make this point on here forever. CBJ called his offense a pro spread. Alabama plays in the gun almost exclusively. We will do the same. The offensive differences will be less drastic than many are hoping.

We will still be a single back zone team operating primarily from the gun.

Pro style offense at this point is just an empty buzz word to get fans excited. You’re all going to be very disappointed.
