This is honestly why I kind of want them to hire Kiffin. If we're going to be the WWE, we might as well have "the heel" turn face at the end. It would be the most suitable ending to this drama.

Agree. Renegade coach at a now renegade program. A big FU to everyone.

Really!!!! You posted that like it was a direct quote. You do know what quotation marks are used for right? So you essentially quoted your prediction. Uncool.

My apologies. When I typed it I figured if I was going to say what I expect said I'd use quotation marks.

Expect Fulmer obviously. That being said, Fulmer not going to be able to pull in anyone outside UT family ...unless maybe Miles. Going to have to be Tee or Cutcliff.
There are a number of UT alums in coaching (pro and college) besides just Tee or Cutcliff. Tunnel vision?

Maybe tunnel vision, but using logic of folks associated with Fulmer who have already been mentioned as possible candidates. Who you got for VFL HC?

Fulmer as AD will be a HUGE mistake!

All serious coaches want to know who their boss/AD is going to be for several years and that there's stability at the AD position.

Fulmer is NOT that guy and he's NOT qualified to be our AD.

Blackburn should have been hired as our AD after Hart and most on here know that.

Right this minute, before the press release of Fulmer as our AD, we all need to protest and blow up social media to hire Blackburn as our AD right NOW!

Blackburn is a Tennessee guy and has worked in the AD before and he will revamp our AD, get things in good order and he'll hire us a great coaching staff that knows how to recruit against anyone because he'll know that his job is also on the line.

We all need to be screaming HIRE BLACKBURN NOW and get the fan protest going as fast as we can so we get a good coaching staff hired and they can get busy recruiting good players.

VFL...GBO!!!

I think both are very good hires. Either is fine. But, we don't need to protest our own.

It is now 1 pm. It can't be a direct quote from a press conference at 4 o'clock. What is wrong with you?

Long-time lurker with a single post (from 2010, no less), so I can't make new threads.

This debacle is begging for a public records request for Currie's e-mails and text messages. Davenport's, too. At least those sent/received over the last couple of weeks, as a start.

I'm sure there's been a lot of work-around of the records laws by the powers that be, and there's certainly gonna be a lot of garbage to sift through. But surely there's some revealing information available. Maybe it's just that as a former journalist and current lawyer, I'm going crazy over what might be in these records that could shed some actual light--maybe not much, but more than mere speculation--on what the hell has been going on in the UTAD.

I'd do it myself, but I'm (sadly) not a Tennessee citizen. I'm happy to work with someone who is to make the request and see it through. I suspect the allowable "reasonable" costs UT will want to charge to respond will be high, given the amount of man-hours likely needed to respond. But first step is to make the request. If the charge is too high, we can set up a GoFundMe and surely cobble it together.

Anyone interested?

Are we going to have fire Fulmer again? I have zero confidence in his judgement.

First. you are assuming Fulmer will automatically be installed as AD. He may be, he may not be. I'm hearing an assistant of Currie's may very well take over as AD at least temporary. Second, I have heard (so far it has been the case), that only candidates with HC experience will be considered. That would explain why Tee has not even received a phone call. If that holds true I suppose Cut would normally be a possibility, but he said several days ago, he was not interested in the UT job. Why would he be? Duke is a much better fit for him at this juncture in his career. That leaves current and former college and pro HC's with UT ties, assuming your belief that Fulmer will be named AD, which I do not believe is a given. Possibility, yes, given, no.

STFU about gruden, he isnt an alum, or anything, stop he has absolutely no bearing on this situation at all.

God bless your heart. I too, grow weary of all these 14 year old valley boys constant barrage of “it’s Groooo-den man! We want Groooo-den!”

Grudenites: he was only a candidate in your fantasies. Your fantasies should be about Playboy centerfolds (although I believe these are now an item of the past), not Jon Gruden. I mean, that’s kind of weird.

"Due to the irregularities in this years coaching search we have decided to take a new approach and promote coach Brady hoke on a 1 year contract, we will re-evaluate after next season with Phil fulmer leading that search"

Not unrealistic... someone has to put a plug in the hole, this program cannot take any more hits. We are staggered and one more punch and we will be KO'd.

Sadly... we are not at the bottom yet... but we can see it from here.
