CBJ is getting pissed! I love that guy. I love my university. This is an awesome display of solidarity. The perception that TN doesn't care about the students is total BS! Society lets some disgruntled employees and a radical lying activist set the narrative. Disgusting.

This applies anywhere, not just UT's campus. I promise you that there are people who specifically target universities to attack and prey on women, and I would bet my bottom dollar many of them aren't even students. You have to have some sort of situational awareness no matter where you are.
Of course they shouldn't!
You're not getting it.
Someone needs to stand up and say that they talk to the male athletes about respecting women, and no means no, and making good choices about drinking and hanging out in sketchy places.
The right choices should not ONLY be made by females or female athletes. Saying these things in relation to only female athletes is placing the blame on them when bad things happen. This is the very reason UT has a lawsuit pending.
LOL! Seeing and hearing what you want to see and hear. Ok.
Well certainly everyone has their own perception. If you have a different one that's fine. I respect your opinion. I can only comment on what I perceive.
And please for god's sake someone take Holly's microphone away from her! Good Lord it's painful to listen to her ramble and stutter!
Exactly ... I live in Nashville and you here about the same on Vanderbilt's campus. Went to school at MTSU and it happened there as well. Their parking lots are littered with "safe" call boxes. We even had campus police offer rides to women walking to their cars alone at night. To say that its wrong for them to tell their players to be safer, not walk alone, etc, is crazy. This happens everywhere on college campuses

There are 7 colleges/universities within a 20 mile radius of where I live, I worked for one of them for nearly10 years. On that campus, I know for a fact that the students are encouraged during orientation to not go anywhere alone at night just as a safety precaution. So for the media to suggest this is a singular issue with UT is silly. I never heard this much media speak about those other 2 universities.
UT can be dangerous, Knoxville can be dangerous, the world can be dangerous.
Serious question, is this helping UTK address the lawsuit?
I would say no.
I'm pretty sure the legal team briefed them NOT to mention the lawsuit in the press conference. It is usually a good idea to avoid addressing things like that while under active investigation. They are doing a good job of not specifically addressing the lawsuit, but addressing the overall topic that instigated it.
