Same way with my carport light I have on at night. It's been burning for years now.

I stocked up on incandescent bulbs last year, don't use them except for heating the pool pump or engine compartment of the boat. Nothing safer or easier than an incandescent bulb to heat a small space.

When we built our current house we put LEDs almost everywhere. Over 9 years I’ve changed maybe a handful of them out.

The major selling point of LEDs is their life span. That’s the only way to offset the cost. They use less power for sure quite a bit less. But they cost a good deal more.

Does this ban mean the Barbie Easy Bake Oven will be discontinued??? You can't bake a crappy small cake with no LED bulb!

They completely screwed that up. The benefit of LEDs besides using less energy is that they last longer than incandescent bulbs. The have some drawbacks like color rendering and not always working with dimmers, but longevity and energy use aren't in that list.

Hawk missile batteries used incandescent bulbs in radar cabinets in humid places. I went out to one site and they had turned everything off ... including the light bulbs. It took me over a week to just get back to the original problem. When my son lived here, I'd always give him a reminder when late fall came around to turn the light on in the well house. Some things just can't be replaced ... too bad government is saving us from them.
