There is a difference between personal debt and public debt elected politicians have run up. America should pay its bills as each individual should pay their personal bills. Do you think each person should handle their personal finances as the gov't handles its finances? Should each individual wastefully spend money living their life in debt and then think other people should pay for their debt?

Read the people responding on his tweet now that it was shared. It's absolutely terrible but was the desired result by the people sharing it.

Do you believe he should spend every extra cent on loans even though he entered into a valid program with a standard payment? The ability to drink wine does not mean he can afford to pay extra nor should he need to if there's a contract

Most dont qualify because these programs are run like insurance companies that deny everything. In your link the state is arguing that adhering to this program would hurt their ability to ensnare future college students. This is a govt scam and you're falling for it.

Instead of ending the program we should expand it. Seems a decade of govt servitude is a decent trade.

So after 10 years of servitude on a mortgage the borrowers should not have to pay anymore?

He chose to go to college, he chose to take on the debt and he should therefore pay for his choices and not the taxpayer. He obviously has money to squander on discretionary spending then he has money to pay his bills. Socialism has bankrupted the country financially and morally.

It's a racket that lawyers are getting extremely rich off of and is theift of what belongs to creditors. Part of what's wrong with the country is people are not made to be accountable for their actions.

Absolutely if that's the agreed upon contract. However a mortgage is a completely different loan than student loans. Not sure why people continue to use the example like they're at all similar

Owing money is owing money therefore a MTG is no different than a student loan. I paid my student loan, took tens years, and I do NOT have a moral obligation to pay other people's debt no more than they have to pay my debts.

I don't see a comparison between PPP loans and student loans. There was abuse of the PPP loans by some and the gov't prosecuted those they found who abused it. But when the gov't illegally and immorally forced working Americans to stay home during COVID that led to devasting busnessess, especially small businesses, depriving them of making living and many of those businesses did not survive. The gov't owed those businesses for the major damage done to them, the lost revenue, lost wages, lost savings and loss of livelihood for some. Business owners, especially small business owners, bear the brunt of taxes paid in this country, they have a huge target on their back by the IRS and they were just getting back some of their own money they had paid in taxes over the years. How does this compare to student loans?

They are absolutely different loans. Valuation, Collateral, credit, ability to repay, risk, govt guarantee, etc. If they were similar we wouldn't be in this mess. As it is this student loan issue is severely limiting the economy and options

The set up of the loans are different but owing money is owing money regardless of the loan set up. What is moral about making people who wanted to go to college but could not afford to pay for those who did go to college?
