The Origins of Red and Blue States - Electoral Vote Map
NBC and CBS used blue for Republican wins and red for Democratic states in the 1976 presidential election between Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford. ABC News opted to use yellow for Republicans, blue for Democrats, and red for states …

I wasn't talking about how individual states are color-codified by which party is most likely to win their statewide elections.
I was talking about how Donald Trump shows favoritism to states that are Republican Party strongholds as opposed to those which are Democratic Party strongholds. This has most recently been exemplified by how Trump is framing the relocation of Space Command from Colorado to Alabama as a "victory" for his administration and for Republicans.
Donald Trump has no interest in being the President of every state. He clearly perceives American citizens who reside in "blue" states to be his enemies. This country is sharply divided at the moment, down cultural and ideological lines, and Donald Trump has done nothing to bridge this divide and reunite this country. To the contrary, I would argue that Donald Trump has done more to exacerbate this division than any other politician. Divided is how he wants this country to be.
